Do you think you should always choose the earliest interview date, given that the medical school has rolling admissions and that it doesn't conflict with any other interviews? I am contemplating missing 3 days of school in December versus going to the interview over winter break? Let me know what you guys think.

THANKS!

That depends, how big of a difference are we talking here? If it's just one week's difference, you might as well just go over winter break. If it's 2-4 weeks, I'd seriously start considering missing that school. Why would you have to miss 3 days of school? Are there no red eye flights that leave right after your interview is over? Or red eye flight that leave after your classes the day before let out?

In general, yes, you should always choose the earliest available date. But I've never had to miss more than one day for an interview.

so the interview is 2 days long on a tuesday-wednesday, so I would leave monday night and miss school tuesday and wednesday and come back wednesday night. So I guess I would only miss 2 days of school. The interview dates are about a month apart so I am thinking it is better to take the earlier one.

Yeah, I'd take the earlier date. It's a pain taking all those late flights (believe me, I know), but considering all the days you miss with interviews as it is, it's very hard to schedule a "travel day" on top of that.

That's rough with the two-day interview; I wonder why any school would do that. There's absolutely no reason why any school should ever have a two-day interview, in my opinion; what on earth do they have to show the applicants that they couldn't show in one day? And then for it to be in the middle of the week too? That's crazy...

Yea, not totally sure, it is for MD/PhD so I guess there is more to show in terms of research and medical school.
Thank you for your advice.

Ah, ok... that makes a little more sense, and I have heard of a number of MD/PhD interviews taking two days. I STILL think it would be possible to condense into one day, but at least now it makes some sense.

Good luck.
