Since those receiving an interview/acceptance at one of the "top tens" usually get into more than one, of those that you have multiple interview invites, which one would you most want to attend?

Harvard
Hopkins
WashU
Penn
UCSF
Duke
Stanford
Columbia
Yale
UMich

No luck with the poll, eh?

Edit: I stand so corrected.

I vote other....Mayo rocks.

I guess if the poll about the top ten schools lists 9 of the top 10 and 'other', the 'other' is implicitly Michigan. But that's a weird way to do it! 😛

Damn. Knew I ****ked up something.

Good thing that the ability to post polls properly isn't an admissions requirement at any of these places, eh?

Wow, I never thought UCSF would get such love. It's a good school...but people don't realize it is foggy 90% of the time up on Parnassus Avenue and living in San Francisco is EXPENSIVE.

I should know, I live within 1.5 miles of the UCSF campus!

Good thing humor isn't a requirement either, eh?

No love for UMich?

Yes, if you are talking about the US News research ranking's top 10, then UMich & UWash are missing and Yale (#11) shouldn't be there... Perhaps change the poll to "which of these top schools" rather than "top ten"...

If I was able to get into ANY school, I would have chosen Baylor College of Medicine. They start clinicals in January of the 2nd year, meaning only a year and a half of class.

Mayo may not be in the top ten research schools, but it's my top choice. After that, I'm pretty open; I'll take any of the top ten schools that will take me🙂 though I didn't apply to UCSF or Stanford...

Harvard is 10 shades of awesome and everything, but a lot of Californians like me would rather attend an awesome school on our own home turf. In-state tuition at a public school doesn't hurt either. San Francisco is my favourite city in the world, and I'm not saying that because I live there right now (I live in Los Angeles). I went to undergrad at Berkeley and totally fell in love with the Bay Area. The weather, the clean air, the public transportation, the cleanliness, it's all great. I love the fog! I've even taken to saying "hella"! 😛 I'd move back to SF and/or the Bay Area when I'm a doctor if at all possible.

That said, I didn't bother applying to UCSF or any other top-10 school this time, seeing as I'm a second-time applicant who'd be happy to get into anywhere. 🙁 But if I could go anywhere I'd go to UCSF.

Duke clinicals start 2nd year too. I'm hoping I get to see what it's like (i.e. get an interview). I do wonder how the USMLE timeline makes sense at their school, though...

Holy crap, I just looked at your MD Applicant from last year. Are med schools ******ed or something??

You forgot the University of Washington. It is top ten for both primary care and research.
