Currently I'm choosing between Melbourne Uni and Monash.. And I'm pretty sure my heart favours Monash more than Melbourne Uni. But my parents won't accept the fact that I won't go to Melbourne Uni and they keep on making me choose Melb Uni even though I know I'll be unhappy studying there, all because my cousin graduated from Melb Uni and has a stable job... And their argument is that it'll be better for me when I finish my MD (although I know that entry to the MD program after Bachelor of Biomed is not guaranteed).
My question is:
Does university prestige matter when applying to become a doctor?
Also, how can I convince my parents to let me go to Monash and not Melb Uni? I've tried, and it's been frustrating..
