Im worried a little about this....Ive been accepted to a school which i think is better than others, especialy for my specific circumstances. Do you cancel your other lower priority interviews or go just so you can make a decision with better and first hand info. I understand there is no right or wrong, its just "feel" thing....but what do some of you in this position do?

Ive also given thought to canceling other interviews so that i could "hone" my list. for instance....not go to schools lower rnaked that the one ive been accepted to and use the money to apply to some schools ranked a little better, now that i know how ADCOMS are seeing my application. Or is it too late in the proccess to add more schools?

Most deadlines aren't until Oct. 31, so you can still submit your AMCAS to schools. You will clearly be at a disadvantage because you'll be getting your secondaries at these places (relatively) late and submitting them late, but that's okay and it hardly counts you out of the running.

As far as cancelling interviews, that's totally your call. If you know there is no way you will accept at a given school, then you may want to cancel, but seeing other places will also give you a perspective on what's out there.

To put it another way: what you lose by going to these interviews is time and money. If these are more valuable to you than the opportunity to continue applying to and seeing these other schools, then don't go, but if you don't mind losing the time and dropping the loot, then there is no reason for you not to go.

And, congrats on your acceptance.🙂

a school can easily go from the bottom of your list to the top in just one day.

some schools will completely surprised you while you will leave others wondering what the big deal is.

It's entirely up to you.........if there is no way you would go to that school then save your money. However, I personally wouldnt just go to a school because it's the highest ranked school. There are other things you might want to consider than just rank.

I cancelled 2 interviews after I got into one of my top choices, which I loved when I visited and everything. The first I cancelled because it was at the bottom of my list, mostly because of location (I'd been there, didn't really want to live there, but would rather have gone there than nowhere). The second I cancelled because I had something important like an exam and they couldn't reschedule until late April (also wasn't very high on my list).
