So I was reading CHOPs website and it says, "To apply, you must have passed Step I and II." Does this mean that I won't get an interview until I take Step II CK? Has anyone received an interview and not taken Step II?

my impression from asking around prior to deciding when to take step 2ck was that often times, as long as it's scheduled programs are ok with that (UofChicago says something to that effect too), esp if your score will be in by the time they interview you. and really, i don't think they can have any doubts about how well you will do on step 2ck based on your step 1 score 😉

i ended up taking it when i did because i didnt want it hanging over my head while i was on vacation, otherwise i would be taking it this friday.
so, not an answer, sorry.

can i just not take cs?

Zeke- I took the Step II CK in July and got the interview like 10 days ago. I think your question was answered by the previous post, but I just wanted to let you know my situtation.

This is not exactly in re the CHOP thing, but dont' forget that we aren't neurosurg over here - things will work out as they should. CHOP is good, but not the end-all-be-all of the world so let's take a deep breath and get ready to have some fun out there! 😎

I haven't taken my step 2 CK or CS yet, but I got the invite soon after I submitted my app.
I hate standardized exams!

I just got an invitation today, and near the beginning of the email they wrote:

"I apologize for the delay in contacting you. The CHOP & ERAS computers refused to talk to each other for a week. The problem was resolved today.
Once you reply with dates, it may take me several days to answer all of your
emails so try to be patient."

So looks like things are rolling over there again.

does anyone else find it hilarious that they "refused" to talk to each other? i think its funny, maybe its back to my days in the EE labs writing control system stuff, watching people yelling at a program or robot for being stubborn/impossible to debug (that was me too, i freely admit) "you're supposed to work, why don't you F@$#ing work??" like its gonna answer... 👍

hi, i was a penn med student who interviewed at chop. i didn't take step II CS until after my interview, and i didn't take CK until after match day. it's not a big deal, but you may want to just check with them anyway.
