Any cigar smokers on the board? I've been enjoying the Patel Bros and the Cao Soprano recently.

One of my favorites, and what I plan on enjoying at graduation, are Perdomo's Lot 23...I'm a little more partial to the maduros style.

Try online co cigar international they are great smokes, rivals w/ best of them ...check out their prices!!!!! Humidors to half of what retailers charge.

I smoke Perdomo Lot 23's, Hoya De Monterrey, Arturo Fuentes, Partagas, and Rocky Patels. 1 a week on average. Best enjoyed with a Guinness.

I definitely need to get a new humidor. Any suggestions?

Puff.com is a pretty big cigar/pipe forum, and probably a better resource to ask for suggestions.

Far as humidors go, definately get a 150 ct from either thompson, cigars int'l or cuban crafters...check 'em out...GREAT prices and don't buy retail, mark up is outrageous! You can get like a 100 ct humi w/ 40 cigars for like $100-$200

I like the Paragas Black also. I prefer to enjoy a good scotch with my smoke.

Partagas Blacks are a bit too bold for my taste, but a popular one nonetheless. I prefer a medium-bodied cigar and rarely even smoke maduros, the only stronger bodied cigar I'll smoke on occasion and enjoy is the Oliva Serie V. Good smoke, you should try it sometime if you like the Partagas Black series. Thumbs on the scotch, enjoy that with a smoke now and then too.

I try to smoke only 1 a week or so as I run and work out quite a bit but consider it an allowable indulgence.

This is funny because i was just going to start a thread like this. Anyways, I just turned 18 a couple months ago and i have tried a CAO flavour (the blue one), a CAO gold maduro which made me sick, and some factory thorw outs by JC Newman called "Trader Jack's Kickin' Cigar". I want to try the Drew Estates Java because a coffee cigar sounds good. I dont plan to make smoking a habit though.

Monte Cristoes (the Cuban ones) are by far my favorite. Never tried the DR ones.

By far my favorite, too. You can get them in Central America for about a dollar each. Avoid the Caribbean mark ups that travelers get charged---they really don't cost $15-$30. Stay away from the DR ones---the ones sold in the U.S. There is definitely a difference in quality.

I wish I would have read this a couple hours ago! I just picked up a Monte Cristo from DR for my celebration. I thought I'd try the DR ones after liking the Cuban ones I had a couple years ago. Too bad

Congrats and good luck tomorrow! Match, March Madness, beers and a cigar sound like a perfect day.

GO Northern Colorado!!!!

Recently had the Padrón Family Reserve No. 45 Maduro. Top 3 cigars I've ever smoked. It was cigar of the year in 2009.

Just got a desktop Humidor, any advice on seasoning it?

Rookie question. Any brand and/or type of cigar known for "less" nicotine? Compared to other cigars of course.
Same question on the pipe tobacco front...

Not really... at least to my knowledge. Technically, a milder cigar..even with a connecticut wrapper would probably have some sort of calculable less nicotine load but either way you cut it, any cigar gives you a pretty healthy dose of nicotine. Are you worried about addiction? I wouldn't be... The nicotine from cigars doesn't have any sort of physiological addiction that I've noticed in myself but I only smoke about one a week and go through droughts...haven't smoked one in about 3 months now. I never crave one, it's just more of an indulgence.. and I never inhale. Obviously, if you're smoking one a day or even more, physiological addiction is going to be an issue. I'm pretty active and athletic..run a lot, so I tend to try not to overindulge in cigars, but I do enjoy them.

Not too worried about addiction.
I used to enjoy a cigar eery now and then years ago.
But I found that recently I have been very susceptible to pretty strong jitters and I just assumed the nic.

Just got a Cohiba from a friend. Cannot wait to light up.... 😀

Take a new sponge, soak it will distilled water and gently dab the wood of the humi. Then, fill a small bowl or saucer with distilled water. Place that in the humi for several days.

If you like cigars you will inevitably need more space. Consider building a coolidor if/when that time comes. I keep two desktop humis and several boxes of cigars in my coolidor. The coolidor can hold easily 400 cigars and cost about $50 to build.

I was told that since im a newbie to humidors that this is exactly what I shouldn't do, I was thinking more of buying some of the seasoning packs so that way I dont over saturate the wood. Has anyone gone that route?
