So much movement going on.. is it safe to bring back hope yet? haha

Declined an offer to come off the waitlist as well. Good luck to the rest of you!

Crap. I missed a phone call from a private number a few days ago.

Oops, I didn't mean to scare anybody. I received the phone call first with a voicemail (yay for google voice transcripts). Then about 15-20 min later I received an email.

i have a question regarding personal statements. are we supposed to write two personal statements? it asks to upload personal statement under additional information and it asks to write another in 250 words under supplemental information.

Anyone from this class care to talk about acceptances into medical school? For example, how many people got interviews? For the ones who didn't, was it apparent they weren't doing as well in the masters program? When were interviews given out? Any tips or advice for incoming physiology students?

Some stats:
25 active apps (27 on the website but, 1 withdrew and one applied to like 3 schools)
25 interviews at UC
15+ with multiple interviews
21 accepted to med school
8+ received multiple acceptances
Everybody accepted will be attending an MD program in the fall

You will get really close with your classmates, so you will know how everyone is doing. Interviews started in October for some, but most started getting invites in Dec. UC interviews started at Thanksgiving and finished in March.

Tips:
go hard from day 1 of Fundamentals.
Get Lippincott's Biochemistry Q&A
Get all secondaries done before fundamentals
Figure out if going to class is your style early on.
Figure out a thesis advisor early (you do not have to stay in the physio department, but there are some great faculty)

I'll be starting the program this summer. Besides Lippincott's are there any other texts that you would recommend getting to do well in the program?

Also, would you recommend doing a lab based thesis or a literature based thesis?

Some used BRS Physio. I didn't use any books, most just studied the notes/syllabus really.

It doesn't really matter, just pick a topic that sounds interesting. Because its a lot of work and it would suck if you had no interest at all in your topic. Some people worked with people at Children's, so look around and see what is available. Literature based will be more flexible, but lab based will probably involve less writing.

Yowza, well done you guys. That's an incredible hit rate for same-year apps.
