BTW Depakote, are you sure you always had the Fin Aid tab? One of your previous posts said your tabs were identical to mine at that time, which did not include the Fin Aid tab.

My tabs just changed yesterday (or at least that's when I first noticed it), but my FAFSA info was "made available" (quoting from the Dept of Ed email) to them in the middle of March.

I got a package from UCinn today with their Financial Aid Handbook, forms, etc by (snail)mail today, and a letter requesting that I have my Fin Aid stuff in progress if I get accepted. 😍 😍

Anyone else get something similar?

Ok, I wound up calling today.

Got some info.

They made offers, the recipients have 2 weeks to respond. Once they do, the admissions committee will reconvien and rank the waitlist. When that happens they will send out their next batch of acceptances. We will not be told our ranks.

I did confirm that their is a single waitlist for in-state and out-of-state students.

My impression is that after this 2 week period is up there will be a pow-wow of the adcom members and they'll re-evaluate/rank the alt list before sending out the next batch of acceptances. I didn't find out when this would be (I'd guess and hope soon) or how long it would take but I wouldn't expect to hear anything before next week. Of course, I'll keep hoping for something any time now...

Did she give any idea about how many people were in the first round? Did all first round offers go out on May 18, or have they been making them continuously (I know, "first round" sounds like all at once, not continuous).

If they were all made on May 18, haven't the 2 weeks that Depakote talked about lapsed and shouldn't it be assumed that those who have not responded have turned down the offers? Or are the admissions offers put on hold pending Fin Aid decisions?

I know -- too many questions. Sorry, just frustrated and anxious.

I tried to find out how many were in "the first round" but she wouldn't tell me and said it wouldn't matter if I knew. She said that a lot of the people on the waitlist were on other waitlists too, so movement is tricky, thus acceptances will be "sprinkled" throughout the summer until the day before classes start. Blah...looks like we're in this for the long haul boys haha. 🙄

I had an appointment with Dr. Manuel about 3.5-4 weeks ago.
He told me that they would be making a lot of their offers in the next four weeks.

It seems that they have not gone past the first round.
I am assuming that the SD forum is a decent representation of the medical applicant pool.

If anyone has any information that could help clear this up.

I think that I am going to give the office a call later this week.

I would guess you could assume this is a decent microchasm of the UC alternate list.

From all our calls... we haven't heard anything to indicate that they're past the first round of acceptances. Personally, I haven't heard from anyone other than the admissions secretary, my impression is no one else has discussed it with anyone other than the admissions office staff either, but I don't know that you'd get a different answer from anyone else... Overall, it's hard to get a definitive answer.

Ugh this is just getting painful considering classes are basically starting in two months. Does anyone know if they have a white coat ceremony or orientation and when that might be?

they were quite helpful this time.
She said that its been very slow, that they have not made more offers since the 'first round'
She said that the class size will be around 159.
She said its slow and quiet because the people that have confirmed with UCCCOM might be on other waitlists and thus they are not moving off until they hear back.

It seems like they will take people off the waitlist, but I honestly think it will be only a few.

Orientation starts on August 7th, classes start on the 13th and white coat ceremony is on the 10th. Good to all of you. Hopefully some of you will end up being a classmate.
