CK one week away

Hi everyone. I'm 7 days out from my CK, seeking some simple insight.

Is there anyone out there who did about half of UWORLD, and passed CK?

I'd appreciate any insight anyone may have, since I'll probably only get through about half of UWORLD prior to my test. I've done about 900 questions (have 60% of the bank left) and am consistently scoring around 70-90% per set, with a 75% cumulative average.

Hi palakas! I really appreciate your response. I plan to do a UWSA two days before the exam to gauge my score. My main concern is even if I score 225+ on the UWSA, do you think it is safe to go into the test without doing half of the qbank?

Why would you want to? I mean, if you're not on a time crunch, you might as well postpone and give the exam after you finish the Qbank. You only get to give the exam once. Wouldn't you want to give it your all?

Hi @usmleswot , thanks for your response! To give some background: I'm kind of pinched for time because I'm taking my exam during rotations and I'm about to finish my week off of dedicated study time. I wanted to take the test before I started my next rotation where I'll have no time to study.
Good news is that I took an NBME yesterday and got an equivalent 240.
But I agree with your logic. I decided to push it back two weeks to make the final push through the bank and see if I can improve some more. Also, by pushing this exam back, I have to push back Step 2 CS, and my score won't come back until October at the earliest. (I'm an IMG so they encourage us to have all our scores in by the time we apply to residency.) That's why I was pushing so hard to take it soon. So many variables!

No problem! I'm an IMG myself. Done with Step 1 and CS, currently prepping for CK and yeah, you don't want to mess up Step 2 CK even if it means you get your CS score a little late. Would you mind sharing what you used in terms of prep materials?

So I'm not using books as references anymore, I'm only doing UWORLD questions since all the books are too out of date for my taste, and UWORLD updates their questions pretty regularly. I've been doing the same really. Been going through the Kaplan Qbank. Have to start Uworld soon. Hopefully this will work out for the both of us. Fingers crossed! Good luck!

We got this! If you're tough enough to make it off whatever island you were on in one piece, you're tough enough to make it through these tests!

Why couldn't you finish UW (or nearly finish it) in 1 week? If you do 4 blocks per day, that's over 1100 questions in 7 days.
