Hey,

I am wondering what the predicted 3-digit step 1 scores for the basic science shelf and the nbme practice tests mean (and if they have the same meaning as each other).

Does the predicted 3-digit step 1 score equate to what other students ended-up getting on the actual step 1 when they took it after studying more?

Or does it mean that that would be your score right now, had you just taken the step 1 today?

thanks,

The basic science one I believe is your predicted score based on data collected from previous testtakers.

The NBME exams are based off of an internal algorithm amongst all the practice exams they have online (hence why some of the exams have a more lenient curve than others).

They both predict a score for you if you sat for the test that day.
