Hey 2013!!!!! Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. I've been focusing on school trying to salvage my grades. It didn't help. Ha.

Hope everything is going well for everybody!!! 'grats to all you new acceptees! I'm so happy for you!

Life's good with me. I feel so grateful and blessed. I just got a full-tuition scholarship to Vandy.....so I suppose it's likely I'll end up there next year. We'll see.

Your grades are near perfect and you got a full tuition scholarship to Vandy... Congrats, and if I were in your shoes, I would just stop studying all together.

Thanks funkmonk!!!!!! I just may take your advice. I'm seriously feeling the burnout. Maybe I've earned some time off? Ha.

oh my god i hate finals. add that to the fact that i don't care anymore. senioritis combined with med school acceptance is a destructive force
 
Hey everybody. I wanted to stop by and say hello before I get outta here. I am about to leave for the airport for DC. I can't wait to get back to yall in here because I know some good stuff is going to be on here. I will be praying for everybody as I am gone. This is going to be a great trip. It is hard to believe that I am actually going to interview at the school that I have been praying about for the past 3 years. In the bible it says, "If you believe and do not doubt, you will receive whatever you ask in prayer." I am believing that medical school is going to happen for me, but I am also believing that you all will receive whatever you ask for. I have replaced my fear with believing. If you haven't heard from that school you want or you don't have an acceptance or interviews, just know your time is coming and fully believe that with all your heart. If you already have your acceptance or some in hand, congrats and be thankful for what you have. I hope you all have a great couple of days and I will catch yall on the flip side! God bless the bombest class of them all, 2013!

Sorry I have been a bit absent over the past week or so - things have been CRAZY here!

So I just got an interview invite to MCW this morning and I'm thinking of withdrawing. I honestly don't think I'd attend there over UMD and it would be pretty expensive to fly out there for the interview. I feel very lucky to have been invited, though!

I just got two scheduled in Chi-Town and the $$$ is an issue. I think UMD would beat MCW easily, so that sounds like a sound decision. Congrats on the interview!

So after my first year, I had 0 Interviews.
At the end of my second year applying I had 1 pity interview (pulled strings) and 1 actual interview. 2 Wait Lists and 2 eventual rejections.

Today, during my third year applying I received my 11th interview invite. I actually have to consider not going to interviews. Gee, who'da thunk it?

Well done on the invite! I think you've earned the privilege of turning down an interview. It's something so few people get to do.
 
wow.. so i have done nothing today.. although i am trying to write a letter of interest to NYU... Ive given it some thought and decided that is my first choice. the only thing is really has over the other 2 NYC schools is location. I want to move downtown 🙂


does anyone know is NYU accepts LOI's?

Every school "accepts" LOI's. As far as the weight it actually will be given, I have no idea... but it can't hurt your chances! :luck:

not true, albany for a fact says NO LOIs or UPDATES at all
 
Sent my LOI (I = intent) to my top choice today. It is officially in the mail, no turning back I guess. I'm treating it as binding as it can be. I'll keep y'all updated.

I got put on hold at UMich, but considering that I would rather stay in warm and Sunny Dallas than go to the frozen barren wasteland, filled with Crimes and crooks that is Michigan, I really do not care😛

Now time to write my art history final paper!

hey everyone!

hope all is well. congrats on any new acceptances or interview invites. One more final left for me! Tomorrow morning I have zoology, and I'm doing everything except studying for it.... believe it or not, i could care less about the different types of fish scales 😴

I had my last final... all I need to do is start reading and writing... but I am still too exhausted after genetics...

CONGRATS on being done with genetics!!! That must be a wonderful feeling. Take a nice relaxing break before worrying about papers & such 🙂

I have a final in Trends in International Health. Which is a cool-sounding class. (Who knew the professor could end up making such an interesting subject so boring?)

I know all my grades for my other classes...and I'm borderline in Trends...

We'll see what happens. But I'm done tomorrow at 6:30PM, I'll never have to see another final again 😀

I just realized that running before going to sleep is a VERY bad idea... I slept at 9:30 pm last night, and woke up at 5:45 AM, and I am still tired.🙁 At least it was a good work out, and who knew that the UCLA perimeter was 4 miles?

Lol, I have the same problem sometimes. But you gotta do something to stay in shape, right? How long does it take you to do 4 miles? I fluctuate between 30-35 minutes.
