well for me Sat was my last night because tonight I need to go to sleep early to get ready for the big day. We went to a bar in the LES. I think it was called 515


I was sober enough to type and actually make sense... unlike our dear friend Rice

The only thing I have really been keeping up with is biochem, and that's only because the expectations are exceedingly clear and the notes are good. I mean, she actually assigns specific pages to read, so I read them thoroughly. What is killing me in the other classes, especially anatomy, is that I don't really know what to study because

(1) the syllabi are not very helpful,

(2) I don't own physical copies of any books (besides Netter's) so I am not tempted to peruse the digital copies,

(3) I don't know what to memorize and what to just "read over" (I can't memorize it all at this pace!).

If I didn't have a roommate, my desk would be in the living room and I'd alternate between studying on the armchair and my desk. I'm wondering now if I should have even bothered buying a desk, but maybe I'll get around to using it. I really should clean my room tonight anyway. Now that I have my bed I have no excuse for it to still be in a transitional state.

I've been trying to keep up with biochem but I feel like I'm so behind that when I try reading, I end up giving up because I realize I'm understanding so little. It doesn't help with all the people talking about how it's so easy and how they've heard these lectures so many times before already. 🙁 I really enjoyed the biochem small group session though. I wish we had that sort of thing more often. I think I need to form/join a study group.

I own all the anatomy books (I only own the anatomy books... And a physiology review book) so what I'm doing is just rotating among them. I looked through the dissector to see what parts of the body we're doing next (lungs and hearts) and am now flipping through the pages on the lungs and the heart in the other three books (embryology's next).

It is really weird not having assigned pages though. I'm not really sure how to study physiology and histology.

This is what monday night after our biochem test is gonna be like 👍...Maybe not quite that crazy because we have class the next day...🙄 But this weekend has seriously been a cramming hell 🙁.

Glad to see this thread is still going strong!! I have a test tommorow, but i feel like ive ran out of stuff to study...

It's really hard trying to get back into the studying mode after a fun weekend. I just finished a productive 2 hour study group session though; I feel proud of myself 🙂

They really weren't kidding about the free food though. I'm enjoying the free lunches. 😀 And if I weren't lazy about heading to evening stuff, I could've had a free dinner or two.
 
In other news, blackout curtains are awesome (and pretty cheap at Walmart and Target; there's a $13 a panel brand). I'm gonna love these things even more when I get to third year.
