happy christmas to everyone!! its been an amazing, incredible, blessed day. I am finally home about to get on pj's (several new pair to choose from) and rest! the puppies woke me up early!

Yea i watched the first season of the OC (but watched less and less b/c it was getting worse and worse until i just stopped watch walking). Ive never actually been to her house, so I dont know if thats what its like..but ill be sure to give a description when I get back. Maybe ill take some pictures with my new camera!

Nope, mine was pretty basic. Just hung out with family, relaxed and watched the basketball games.
 
we watched movies all day while my littlest sister drove me crazy singing along to hannah montana in the other room. I'm scarred for life.
 
oh and played wii fit! that was a big family hit.

I think it's a great time. The games are cute (nothing fancy) & if you are trying to get fit it's a good way to monitor your progress. It was all worth it to see my dad do the hula hoop. I can live peacefully now haha

i like wii fit too. it's a lot of fun. there is a whole range of stuff to do. but it doesn't replace going to the gym

imagine if all you had to do to lose weight was do some wii fit steps & chase that annoying waving wii around the island? Oh what a wonderful world it would be!

This thread is awesome. I haven't been accepted anywhere so far, hope yall don't mind me joining this party.

PS I, too, suck at basketball. It's really sad, I wish I were better. I want to go and practice sometimes but I suck so bad it's embarassing, lol. Makes for a good time...

I had so many friends get engaged... and two others have new babies... in the last couple days.

I want one! 🙁

I had 3 friends get engaged over the course of 3 days last winter...I definitely started wondering if I was "over the hill" at that point! (Especially considering they were all younger than me!)





[Followup: Within two weeks 2 of the 3 engaged couples had broken it off]

Did they completely break off the relationship or just the engagement? Man, that's rough. I couldn't imagine going through that.
 
ouch. not many new engagements around my neck of the woods but plenty of new babies. There is something in the water over here because everyone is sporting a newborn or at least a baby bump! ahhh you'll never get me!

Both ended their engagements (as in permanently, from what I understand).

I don't know the reason why one of the couples broke it off.

The other couple broke it off...because he went back to prison 😱. Yes I said "back to" prison -- drug dealing. According to the girl (a good friend of mine, actually) he found God and stopped doing/dealing drugs. Apparently his parole officer had evidence to the contrary (at least for the latter claim -- no one's going to arrest you for not having found God these days).

Anyway, so yeah. I figure if I'm not engaged, that means I'm one fewer steps towards divorce 😉. [I think my current s.o. and I both have very strong views about divorce -- and not wanting to get one.]

so i just got back from the party in the OC.... I got a few good pics, i might post them later. I was obsessed with this giant fish tank they had in the front which had a blowfish and this other fish that had these razor sharp lookin teeth that were highlighter blue....i took a picture of the blowfish, haha. I also took a pic of the ferrari in the garage! BALLIN!

When you get that acceptance to UCI, we can form a basketball club dedicated to improving our skills? Anyway that is decent is prohibited from joining.

A lot of peopel from school are getting engaged, and others i knew from high school have recently been getting married. Kids are cute and all, but im gonna wait at least 1 or 10 more years...haha. I wanna be involved, especially in the early years. I dunno how possible that will be during residency? I guess thatll be a convo to have with the Mrs (whenver the day comes)

You should start proclaiming "first" in all your posts (not really). Nova got my money last week, Western was an awesome school though it wasn't an easy decision!

Well Harvard hasn't gotten back to me yet so I'm not set yet ha ha ha, but seriously I am open to other offers. These are tough decisions, because I have really liked almost every program I have interviewed at so far, and I'm sure there are plenty of other schools out there that I would be happy at too.

Congrats on your UCI acceptance, are you dead set on attending there?

Same here, USF was very impressive! I'm stilling hoping for a UF invite, I'm actually moving up to gatorville next week to live with a good friend from college until med school starts.

Have you made a command decision yet on where you will be attending?

The only other schools I would interview at are UCSD, UCLA, and USC (it would cost no money to interview, thats why). I havent even received a secondary from UCLA, so im not counting on anything happening there. Even if I got an interview and accepted to USC, i dont think i'd go there over UCI based on tuition alone.... And i'm on post secondary hold at UCSD...if i happen to get pulled off (I just sent in a LOI) and then accepted....then i guess it would depend on the interview day and which school i felt most comfortable at. So, if i had to put a percentage, i'd say 98% going to UCI. :luck:

Not quite yet. I'm waiting on financial packages, a final word from UCF, Columbia, and Cornell among other things. I'm glad I have time to think about the decision because I really need to figure out where my priorities lie (financial aid? location? curriculum? other?).

You should let UF know you'll be "in the area", maybe? 😕

No, it would not depend on your comfort! It would depend on whether I decided to go to UCSD.

My goal is to get as many SDNers (that I like) as possible to go to the same med school as me. 🙂

i'm definitely waiting for the new year. congrats on making your decision redrumi. and everyone else who has decided. i'm still hoping :xf: although i would be very happy to go to rush. this is all so exciting!
