I just finished the "retreat" for one of my clubs...

Oh, and Yoda, I do not textmessage either... I mean, why have a phone, and not talk on it? Isn't that the point of a phone?

Lyss! Hey good to see you. I don't think we've been online at the same times. 😛

We sort of talked about it. I still don't exactly have any idea what he was thinking, but I'm not sure that going down that path would be incredibly fruitful (I'm not convinced that he knows what he was thinking).

Basically, he finally called me Friday night and said that he missed me right away, and I tried to keep it light and just sort of teasingly said "aw, I thought you were avoiding me or busy or something." And he just basically said that no he had missed me a lot and that it had been far too long. So (without being snarky and sarcastic) I told him he could call any time and that I was usually on IM. And he sounded pleased that I'd said that...so who knows what happened? I have been busy, so maybe he thought that he would just "stay out of the way" when I was busy? I don't know.

Basically, what I've decided is that I'm not going to think about it any more unless it happens again. Then I'll deal with it.

😀 Hehe, this post was too long. Anyway, it all got worked out.


BTW, you're totally right about this being a wonderful opportunity to be with a guy who is new to a relationship. He's very willing to listen to me and take my suggestions on what we do as a couple. I love that. Yay, for non-players.

Thank you 🙂 I was thinking about what you said earlier about "I couldn't tell you about ___ because you didn't call!" And I think I did a variation on it. I'm glad I didn't do the "I think...we need to talk" thing. I think he was just clueless 😛

Holla... that is from King Lear...Goneril says it in one of the later acts...

But anyway, I feel sleeping usually helps when I have a headache...
 
Yes, one of my new years resolutions is to be nicer to my bf. I can be quite bossy if you let me... and he lets me 🙁 I think he loves it deep down lol

I just saw Private Practice... It was one of the better episodes of the season... it was really sad about the end, and made me wonder about the link between immunizations and autism...

No joke man, that ending was depressing. It seemed like the show was expressing the idea that there is no link whatsoever between immunizations and autism. They said it more than once, and had multiple docs say it.
 
I actually only got my "school required" shots as a baby (due to other medical reasons, not the autism link) and ended up with whooping cough in high school. it was awful. now that I seem to have outgrown my bad side effects (except for a bit of allergic reaction from time to time) I have been over-vaccinated. With a compromised lung function already its not worth it to forgo vaccines. I get flu every year, pneumonia as often as they'll give it, and anything they'll give me before med school!

Ive heard the argument that if we start spreading out the immunizations, instead of giving them all at once, we might see a decrease in the amount of autism. Do you konw if there is any evidnece to support this? I dont konw too many details on the subject, just that its a pretty controveresial debate.
 
I don't know. I actually did a lot of work with autism-spectrum disorder kids in college, and in all our training , it was always brought up that although parents sometimes believed this, it hasn't been proven enough to focus on, especially since Mercury was removed from the vaccines.

I think a lot of the issue is that vaccines are given at the ages when children are likely to be afflicted... so instead of a direct correlation, some of it is just two events happening at about the same time.

I think it's fascinating all the research docs do even within their own practice.. I guess its because many of us love to learn... but the first thing I want to do with that info is run to the journals and start figuring out my views....

Hm, guess its never too early 🙂
 
Doesn't it amaze you what the docs you've been around just happen to pick up? Like, you work 50-80(or more) hrs a week and figure out the best (insert illness here) treatment in your "down time".

Good thing I love journals...
