That's why you have to come up with a more ridiculous-sounding (although still believable) answer and get everyone to vote for it. Balderdash is fun with the right people.

Yeah, it's a fine line. If you come up with something that's plausible, it's probably not the right answer, so you have to come up with something crazy but within the realm of possibility. Pretty tough usually, but fun nonetheless 🙂
 
I'm in the ambulance house today. I've been neglecting my EMT duties 🙁


I'm kind of annoyed because as soon as I walked in the door my corps received a call BUT the guys were already out on the street for some reason (prob joy riding like idiots) so I couldn't go! grrr :meanie:

I slept for a grand total of 3.5 hours... And I still have not done my 3-4 page paper... that is due today...🙁

Well, it kind of implies that the writer doesn't know the group personally and it implies that the writer is of higher socio-economic status. It sounds sort of like a textbook for some reason...

Probably insulting, too.

In any case, unless there's a compelling reason to use the word 'indigent' I'd probably avoid it.
 
Ok I'm getting REALLY annoyed. I live in a small town and we NeVeR get any calls. I'm lucky if I get one call per shift. Today I am here & waiting patiently and we have had 3 calls in the hour that I've been here BUT the crews are not here so I'm stuck here GRRRRRRR why am I here!?!?!
 
agreed. sounds like something that would come up in a national geographic article.

Yeah I hate that. I definitely feel like I'm doing more grammar editing than content at this point.

Personal pet peeve: when writers don't know the difference between "affect" vs. "effect."
 
I'm actually taking lunch today.

Been on the phone trying to cancel two online-greeting-card memberships. I call, talk to a machine, which says it can't find my membership and transfers me to a number that promptly hangs up on me.

I finally fired off a mean email saying how could I possibly cancel over the phone if they continued to hang up on me.

I'm ticked!
 
Yeah I gave up on reading PSes because I took probably about 4 hours reading the first one 😛.

I can't let go when I start making comments...😱😱
