I should go to bed, but I slept for nine hours last night and I took a 2 hour nap....

Its pretty bad. Most of the schools in the area, including my own, have already announced that classes will be canceled tomorrow. I should be celebrating, but I hate the cold and am upset that I will be missing lab tomorrow since I already missed lab a few times last week

You do not know my dad🙄 but he said that he will not force me, and I can make my own decisions for med school, since he kind of picked my undergrad stuff...

I miss the snow... There was a big snowstorm in Chicago when I lived there, and classes were cancelled, albeit for one day... the next day, I had to walk to school with the snow going up to my mid-gastrocnemius...

I think most kids who lived in cold cities would say that they loved snow days. They allowed us an extra 24hrs to procrastinate before getting our homework done and to frolic in the snow.

Probably, but it's very interesting data. The URM GPA-MCAT curves have a LOT of noise, which is interesting. I mean, the 3-3.2 curve crosses the 3.2-3.4 curve! Clearly there is more going on here than the graph is telling us (I personally think that the HBCUs and Puerto Rican schools are messing with the data).

Interesting...More importantly, people must not forget that the URM curve is a much smaller fraction of the pool than the other curve is. Certainly, there has to be outliers in both groups.

What's up Class of 2013? Spring break is a few weeks away, if you're on quarters, you're heading into finals. If not...you're two months or so away from finishing undergrad and 5 months away from orientation!

You should just stay awake. It takes a few hours of sleep before your body goes into deep sleep (REM) where you get rejuvenated. If you get like 3-4 hours of sleep you're basically getting nothing, well at least that's what I've been told by a professor.

Ahh...epi test today. Boo. I spent all night talking to Mr. Nola. He kept asking if he should let me study and I kept saying "no".

This doesn't bode particularly well for medical school, but maybe I can get it out of my system right now before school starts.

Your prof needs a refresher on sleep! A complete sleep cycle lasts 90-120 minutes, so you'd get some deep sleep with 3-4 hours of sleep. Also, REM sleep isn't deep sleep - stages 3 and 4 are. If you really don't want to be tired, try to wake at the end of a sleep cycle.

sorry, i didn't answer this earlier. It was filmed all over but the beautiful mountain scenery was mostly all in the south island. but the shire is in a place close to auckland in the north island
 
Ugh, I'm sick. And it's the worst kind of sick, too: just bad enough that I feel absolutely miserable (esp. on my paltry 3.5 hours of sleep, to go with the 6.5 I got over the weekend), but not quite bad enough that I feel I can justify going to health services over going to take my exam in an hour 🙁
 
I am tired... but oh well... Time to go exorcise...
 
sorry funky for falling asleep and not letting you the channel for the fray...
well i didnt fall asleep, i just stayed up watching tv and hanging out with mr.ar and not studying for my exam that is at 1pm tomorrow... i dont think i have ever in my life been less prepared for an exam and i feel like i may be expecting a B/B-... thank god for pass/fail...
 
btw we have about a foot of snow and everything is open as usual....

Yeah, the commute to work this morning was god-awful. About 3/4 of my department is out "sick," so today's probably going to be a very lazy day at work.
