Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Haha, yay! Sure, why not, if you have time? 😉

Man, the waitlist just loves me. I'm a very waitlistable applicant it seems. 😛

Glad I could give you a laugh, Lyss 😀

Good morning!

Oh pianola, YOU are a waitlistable candidate? Yeah, right, have you seen my profile:laugh:

But in the same way, I am thankful to have UTSW😀 I wrote about my acceptance in the first acceptance thread, and it made me remember all the happy feelings and made me all warm and fuzzy on the inside which is good, since it is cold (46 right now), and it is gonna be only in the mid 60's today🙁

I am currently waitlisted at my top choices and waiting to hear back from one school that would be in the top 4.....

I feel like I have a nice gf that I'm comfortable with, but there are these other hot, smart, fun women who share many interests with me, but they won't make eye contact....

How is that for a simile?

Actually this is a metaphor since do did not use like or as 😛

Yeah, it's great to just be alive.

Vadd, I haven't talked with you in a while!

How are things going for you?

[Actually, I'm off to class so I'll read what you write later...]

I know 🙁 But I am still alive.

I am getting senioritis like you wouldn't believe. I am not sure if it is a good or bad thing, but I know that my time here in Ohio IS coming to a close. I've been here for 20 years, and all I have to show for it will be a lousy diploma 🙂

Everybody send up a prayer for Pianola, Chad, and BDr2B! Or you can cross your fingers!

They should be hearing back really soon!!!!! :luck::luck::luck::luck::xf::xf::xf:

Good luck guys!

Morning everyone! 🙂

I just saved 100 square feet of rainforest!

Am I the only one who has never been to Boston?

I've never been.

I've not been there either. Clearly, since no one's been there it doesn't exist.

I concur, Boston is possibly the most miserable city to drive in.

...damn. Ok, so maybe it does.

hahahahaha....B/c buildings in Cali now have be able to withstand an earthquake. I can sleep through those bad boys and if they are during the day and have more of a rolling than jolting feel then I pretend like I am surfing.

Lightning and thunder...NOT so much...I don't like the idea of being stuck between plates of a capacitor with a freakin conductor (air) in the middle....NOT FUN!!!!!!!
You clearly need to be able to withstand a lightning strike. There are two ways to do this:

a) Practice! (You'll love that... if you survive:meanie:)
b) Always wear a lightning rod!

Morning, '13ers.

60 sounds amazing. The sky is clear and blue here, and it should get up in the 40s today. I can't wait for spring and cherry blossom season!

I took a sick day today because of a stiff shoulder and neck. Basically the only comfortable position is sitting straight up, so I don't even want to go to sleep. 🙁
Peak Bloom Period is predicted for April 3 - April 9, 2009. The blooming period begins many days before peak bloom is reached and can last up to 14 days.

You all have to visit. Unfortunately, I'll be in Cleveland.:laugh::laugh:

Hope you feel better soon. :/

I went to Boston with an ex several spring breaks ago, when my sister lived there. It had been so warm, then suddenly it started snowing in the middle of the night! My poor ex had to keep waking up and running out every hour in the snow to put money in the meter. He decided not to stay because it was such a pain. Parking in Boston = 👎thumbdown

Ah~ the fabled cherry blossoms of DC. Actually, I've never seen them! But my parents are coming up to view them here (at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden). Hopefully they're still around peak the weekend of April 18th.

(And thank you. I think I'd be more comfortable if I had a higher chair... maybe I can stack some phone books like I'm 5 yrs old again.)

Hey Vaddo do you know when the Cherry Blossom festival is in DC this year?

thanks

http://www.nationalcherryblossomfestival.org/cms/index.php?id=390 for all your National Cherry Blossom Festival needs.👍

They definitely won't last until the 18th, though. You'd be lucky to find a blossom at all two weeks after peak.🙁 We found one that was in half-bloom (must've been a not-at-all-windy spot) last year around that time and all took a picture under that.

hey all.

i really dislike the scapula. I wish people didn't have them.

Ah, maybe cos we're farther north, they start later/last longer here? The BBG isn't even holding the formal Matsuri until May 3rd, so there *must* be blossoms until then.

I went once when I was like 9 years old. I don't think it was all that special or anything.
You can't appreciate the fun that is Boston unless you are at least a college student. it's a great college town.

I think the thing most people don't appreciate about Boston is how small it is...

Ah, yeah. They blossom sooner in the south than the north due to the climate differences. There was a map of japan that tracks the cherry season; it pretty much moves from Kyushuu to Hokkaido over a period of about a month or so. I'll see if I can find that for you when I get home.👍

Ah, yeah. I've seen that map actually (or some similar). Guess I just don't think of DC and NYC being that far apart. But duh 🙄 they are.

Being from Texas, everything on this coast seems ridiculously close together. 😀

It is really amazing how many ways you can mess up your bones/ligaments/joints. We are learning about them all in this lecture apparently.

It does until you're lost in the mountains.

I think that's actually my favorite thing about that city. It's totally walkable, public transportation is fantastic, and it never feels overwhelming or isolating the way New York does. You get all the benefits of a big city, a fantastic culture, all the history you're gonna get this side of the Atlantic, and a population of the smartest, most educated young people in (arguably) the world- and it all manages to feel like a town instead of a city. It's pretty remarkable. I still love that you can absolutely walk anywhere and everywhere cause things are so close. Seriously, Boston is amazing.

👍 After a few years it did start to feel very small to me though... but I am coming from NY so that colors my perspective.

Yeah, I liked boston quite a lot, it lets you have city living without being NYC or Chicago. I think it's a little too far north for me to settle down in, though, and I think at this point in my life I'd rather be in NY or LA, boston feels a little small, which is kinda strange hehe

My family went there (three?) years ago, and it was awesome 🙂 Absolutely loved the walking experience (except for the drivers who would yell at you for no apparent reason), especially coming from Texas where you absolutely NEED a car to get around.

Managed to catch a Sox game in the lower boxes just to the right of home plate... what an experience! Actually, I have to apologize to Sox fans, because before we came they were in first place and looked like the best team in baseball... and when we came they lost, which started a slide that took them all the way out of the playoffs by the end of the year 😳

as a New Yorker I applaud you haha

i didn't use the word like?
OOps😳
Hope your run goes well!
It was... about 4.5 miles... I am happy and filled with endorphins... quick drizz, which endorphins are they 😛(have you have endocrine yet?)

Great now I feel even more miserable that I got rejected from Hahvahd...🙄
It's been an interesting day so far...
What happened?

Good, I am bringing my car to Dallas... also, you absolutely need a Car in Cali... SoCal anyway, which by the way is the best part of California... Don't believe what LET or Berk say... Socal>>>Norcal... Although I do love the Norcal fog and greenery...

Okay, now I need to study...

I need to get a gift for Mr. Nola's sister. She invited me to her birthday party tonight and she was the one who set me up with Mr. Nola on our first blind date nearly 4 months ago.

She's one of the top 5 prettiest women I've ever seen in my life. Seriously, she makes that pic I posted of "myself" in the pre-med picture thread look...average at best.

Yeah, I've gotta think of something first.

:hello:

and TOP!!!

You could get her a day at a Spa?

OR $$$$... Money is always a good present.

You could buy a plot of rainforest land under her name...

Or buy her a monkey... http://www.primatestore.com/forsale.asp
Apparently they are $2500-10K...

I saw a commercial with A-Rod last night; was honestly surprised he has any sponsorships left 😉

(I hate both the Yankees and the Sox with a passion, btw)
we can't be friends anymore Spurs... wit was fun while it lasted 😀 😆

I have been living the Yanks-Sox rivalry most of my life. It doesn't help that my bf is a Red Sox fan...

Hi Watermelon... you will never get to 1k posts if you only do Tops.

Okay, now I am actually gonna go study...

🤣

yes, my posting has experienced a dramatic drop within these past few weeks.

just been getting busy with errands and little things here and there. but nothing can keep me from getting my top. :hardy:

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Lyss, come back! 😀

Hehe I actually don't mind "true" Yankee or Red Sox fans; if they were born there or their parents are from there, kudos to them for supporting their team. What I can't STAND is the person who's lived their whole life in Texas who suddenly "discovered" they were a Yankees fan in the 90s, or "found" they were a Sox fan after 2004 👎

There... is that good enough for you? Can we still be friends?🙂

i need to store my stuff and have it delivered. do you guys know any good companies?

YeS! i share your feelings! We are buds again. You know i can't resist you anyways hehe

The Columbia neurotics are at the edge now. The acceptances are starting to come in... Good news is on the way, chad! :luck:

Should I still be holding out for an interview invite? hahahaha 😆
