tulane was great. performance-wise, I feel I rocked it. My take - mid way. I was thrilled with some things, didn't like others. My only main issue was just new orleans in general.. safety and such. But there were definitely good things and I'm certainly not taking it off my short list! 🙂 :luck: copperfrog!
 
my first interview is tomorrow!
i'm starting to get really excited (as in my excitement is starting to take over my nervousness a bit).

i start my drive in about an hour. i'm braving public transportation of a new sort tomorrow morning so wish me luck (buses!). i'm so paranoid about being on-time.
 
Glad to hear it went well, Grad!! Did they say anything about whether they would have decisions on 10/15?

And good luck, amp! What school is it at?

My accomplishment of the day: I finished my Duke app a week after I received it (July) but was too paranoid about the quality of my essays to turn it in.. Every time I got to that screen that said "WARNING! You will not be able to submit changes to this application after you press this button. It will be sent for screening" I always chickened out and went back and edited them some more.

But TODAY was the day haha... I pushed the button, paid the moolah, and ka-ching! Sent to screening..... 😱

So I'm sitting here in my hotel getting ready for my interview at Vermont tomorrow, when I check my email and receive an interview invitation from Columbia! 😱 I am super shocked to have gotten one and I can't wait to interview there!

I'll let you all know on Wednesday how the interview went.

Wow congrats.

I seem to have hit a dry spell. Oh well, I have to leave my house at 4 in the morning to catch my flight to Buffalo... tomorrow is gonna be a long day...

Oh and gradu8... good job on Tulane, and you get to wait like the rest of us...:laugh:
 
haha. thanks. when I left my faculty interview, he said "i think you'd fit in really well here". and my student interview gave the same vibe. i'll be shocked - but psyched - if I get multiple offers this year (come on, oct 15!).

Me three. Although, I'm not complaining because I've got enough interviews at places that I would LOVE to go that I'm hoping I will get in somewhere. It helps that several of them are at my absolute top (realistic) choices. Definitely no complaints... but it's been ~3 weeks, so it's starting to feel a little dry...

It seems like every time I start to panic, something comes along.. so maybe if I :scared::scared::scared: a little bit, something will come along for the both of us... Emory, Duke or Dartmouth would be wonderfullll....

Hahaha I think I've been :scared::scared::scared: for a while now....and I vote for Emory, Columbia, UCSF, Northwestern or Dartmouth. Come on now, universe!

Going on three weeks here too...

At least I had my first interview today!
 
Honestly, interviews are the best part of this process so far to me. sure its high stress until you get itset up, book a flight or plan the drive and find where you are going... but interview days? it's like grown up field trips with people I love being around- people who are similarly minded and goal driven. With each interview, I fall more in love with med school. 😍

I'm about to crash. Lots of walking/running at Tulane. comfy shoes, copperfrog!

Just another day down on the path to 10/15 I guess...
 
I just read the Oct 15 Acceptance thread from last year, it got me all excited... (and then I remembered there were still 22 1/2 days to go!)

It seems like that day is so far away. What to do to entertain myself now... hmm...

There's a midterm Thurs and several other assignments due on subsequent Thursdays that I could begin on... but why get too far ahead right now? 😀

Well, waiting at airports is not all that fun either. I am in Philly, and it is kind of Chilly...hehe that rhymes...😀
Does anyone know of any good attractions at the Philly airport. My plane leaves in more than two hours, so I have time...

Oh, and Penn adcom... if you are reading this, I would love to come to Philly again to interview here...hint hint...

Man, I'd love to see some chilly weather down here. Unfortunately it's still 85+ 🙁. Our "cold" spell didn't last long at all. 2 hours and 15 mins til I get to go home. Yay.

Actually it is decent weather outside, but adding the fact that I get the sniffles whenever I fly, coupled with the fact that I am sitting under the AC doesn't help.

But my heart is racing, because my dry spell is broken!

I called UCSD, since I have been complete for almost a month, and the lady told me that I had been approved for an interview!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😱
California love is AWESOME!!!!!😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

YAY! I'm going to get up the nerve to call South Alabama next week.

So yesterday at Tulane we got a tour of the anatomy labs and the Embryology Museum. It was my first cadaver - and he was actually currently being worked on. Pretty cool. The smell was 🙁 but I didn't get sick at all 🙂. And the Embryology Museum was AWESOME (of course, I love embryology and neo, so ya know... several of the other folks in our group felt more ill here than in the gross lab).

I know that was random, but....

You definitely should. What is the worst that can happen...
Oh and by the way that is awesome. Tulane must have had a nice anatomy lab right? I have notices that the schools which have nice anatomy labs show them off, but the ones with the not so nice ones say that out of respect for the bodies, they cannot show them...

It was olllldd. But I was really excited to get to see it regardless... LOL.
 
hmm maybe i'll call some of the schools that i've been complete at since early july...
 
Apparently South Alabama sent out interview invites snail-mail on Friday, so I'll wait til this coming Friday and if nothing is recieved I'll make the phone call.

My other schools have online-based status pages so I can keep constant checks 🙂

I wanted to know if I could solicite prayers from any and everybody who prays. Howard started sending out interview invites today. As you all may know, I really really really want to go to Howard!!! So could you please touch and agree with me that I get an interview at Howard??? 😀 Love you all, God bless!
