Sorry about Mayo, pianola and glory 🙁 But it's good it came later on when you have other amazing acceptances. Now it doesn't matter as much!

got the "High Priority List Letter" today, which means that I am still in it!

Ok ok ok...breathing again.

I honestly thought I was going to be outright rejected just b/c....

and for some reason I am relieved

I can stay up with you till 1AM EST, but after that, I need to rest... I have gotten used to getting about 8-9 hours of sleep😀

I should be saying congrats right? I don't understand the whole High Priority List thing. Is that a waitlist but you are just high on the list?

Hey OMBD, you better believe I am still ridin' high!!! 😀 I got my amcas background check on sunday and almost started to cry again because I was like, wow, this is real. I really did get accepted. LOL! I don't think I am going to come down for quite some time! God is too good for me to stop celebrating!

I'm still celebrating almost 6 months later hahaha! everytime I get email/mail from them I'm like omg I'm going to med school.

it won't be real for me until the first day though. when I'm sitting in class i'll believe it.

anyone share this feeling?
 
then you'll be in anatomy and then exams will be coming up and then you'll be like FML... 🙁

TBH though, med school is fun, you will work more than you thought possible but make lots of great friends and have a good time doing things you wouldn't think you could possibly have fun doing!

Don't listen to all the haters on SDN talking about how much debt you'll be in OMFG and all that. It's really not a big deal.

That's what I'm talking about drizzt. Thank you for being positive! Looking forward to getting back to studying all the time. I am not ready for this 40hr work week thing just yet! :laugh: We don't see positive attitudes too much around SDN, only on this great thread of ours!

It is good. 1 more hr at work and then I get to go home and play Street Fighter 4! Although, I read some stuff on fb about PARP and I am wondering if I should start looking at the material that we will cover? I was going to look at some anatomy stuff but we will start off with Biochem in PARP.

I think the PARP is your pre-studying. Don't stress. Enjoy the free time you have now before you get shipped off to the east coast

Yeah...they charged me a bit more than they charged you, though 😉. I got the exact same non-selection notice btw. It's very "please don't ever talk to us again."

Nah, I'm glad I'm leaving. Couldn't be happier.

Only I have to wait for Mr. Nola to get a job in Houston 🙁 I will certainly miss him. But no one else.

you will do great. The purpose of PARP is to get you up to speed so your adjustment for med school won't be so drastic. Take a look at some biochem stuff, but don't freak over it. Everyone will be at the same level as you so you can struggle through it together. Plus, I can slip you the answers while you are in class 😀
 
So Pianola, you and the bf will be moving in together no matter where you go right? That's a pretty big step.

I think it'll be fine, my PI is a heavyweight in MR so I think the abstract will be well-received! I just need to get the poster together during the summer and the paper too... haha
