Haha you know I hadn't noticed that either until you pointed it out?! Man, Buttercup is intense!
This reminds of Is anyone else excited about financial aid packages coming out soon? I know I am drooling over the prospect of getting a full tuition scholarship to Hopkins (assuming I did the math correctly).
What?
Good luck!😀
OK, well you know you've been on SDN too long when you start to notice these things... time to go study 🙂
Is anyone else excited about financial aid packages coming out soon? I know I am drooling over the prospect of getting a full tuition scholarship to Hopkins (assuming I did the math correctly).
I'll still be around. My spring break is not until April and the fact that everyone here has already had their break is just a reminder that my next vacation is past overdue. Then again, the wait will make my break much sweeter.
I hope everyone enjoys their break.

So Jealous... My last final is June 11th, and I graduate June 12th... for the whole school and June 13th for the MicroBio Department Graduation...
I haven't had a real break since last December, and I don't feel like working or doing school work at the time being, so that's why I think it would be a good time for me to take a break now. However, I would feel the same way if my schedule had been different this past year since what you are saying makes sense.Sadly, I think I'd switch with you... I was ready for a break only because I knew it was coming. It'll be much much harder to go back and make it until the end of May.
this is the craziest thread in SDN land....I can't believe how active this thing is.
How is everyone doing? Get all your vaccinations yet? Housing set up? Loans all readified? Scholarships secured?
I think I am about ready to drop a pretty penny on a hot-shot laptop pretty soon 🙂

MattO! You should post more often in this thread! What have you been up to?this is the craziest thread in SDN land....I can't believe how active this thing is.

Damn! I wish I could do all of that. 😳I've been out on the town...got hired as a painter to make it all plush red 😉
j/k, i've had a really grueling schedule that I have been self-imposing as of late. I am getting up at 4am every weekday morning for alternating back-to-back cycling classes (MWF) and a Master's swim workout (TTh).
I'm actually headed to yoga in 5 minutes!
But yeah...I am just trying to get in decent shape so I don't die during any of my upcoming races I signed up for. I got the UC Davis Sprint on April 12th, a 50mile bicycle ride fundraiser on the 18th, and a Half IronMan on May 2nd.
Still waiting on a call for a job out in India...so I can afford to attend my friend's wedding down in Mexico right before orientation week =)
Oh...and perhaps my biggest vice: I got a PSP (playstation portable) and cannot put it down to save my life. I'm currently playing Tekken and Final Fantasy and have actually gotten cramps from extended play! ::embarrassed::
okay its yoga time.
hola peopleIf you guys haven't finished your hep b (or had it done as a kid) get on that... it takes 6 months and it's ridiculously annoying. Most schools want titer and surface antigen reports, so you'll need a blood draw for anything and you may need boosters and retiters... ugh, vaccinations were obnoxious.
😱 that sounds like I am cutting it close. 😱😱😱😱If you guys haven't finished your hep b (or had it done as a kid) get on that... it takes 6 months and it's ridiculously annoying. Do you have any idea how jealous I am of you people and your so-called "spring break"?!

What's everyone's opinion on Atkins?
👎, there are better ways to do things. What's everyone's opinion on Atkins?
Bad. Well, the way people do it is bad (ie all you can eat meat, eggs, fat, etc). It works though...I know that for a fact. What's everyone's opinion on Atkins?
Do you still need to get hep B if you already had it as a child etc.?Luckily, I already did my Hep B stuff last year (my PCP is pretty good about sending out reminders for stuff like that). I'm actually getting my Hep A vaccine at the moment (got the first shot in January, second one coming up in July).
PCOM requires me to have a titer done.Do you still need to get hep B if you already had it as a child etc.?
We should have all been vaccinated for Hep B, not? I was. Maybe its because you're a little older, OMBDwe don't have to have titers, just shot records. the six month business is a pain, I'm glad I started back in dec.
Well I was just reading about Hep B vaccination and it seems that it can be administered within three months; the second dose can be administered one month after the first and the third, two months after the second.we don't have to have titers, just shot records. the six month business is a pain, I'm glad I started back in dec.

In the case of Atkins your body is happy. You go off ketone body metabolism. If you eat healthy, you'll maintain the weight loss.I'm sure we'll learn all about fad diets in med school, but until then, please forgive my ignorance regarding Atkins. Anyway, surely you cannot sustain such a lopsided diet for life, so what happens when you go off the diet and back into normal eating habits?
jg is a girl😕

I dunno, when I had the sequence it was 1 month wait for the second, then 6 months from the first for the third.

I imagine the process will be long and drawn out to get 'justice' for this. By the time the hammer falls, our collective consciousness will be focused on something else.
Bye Yoda. May the Force be with you🙂
Early Dinner? I have not even had lunch yet, and I just ate breakfast three hours ago...
Wow, you non PST people are weird😛
Am I the only one who is obsessed with the ramifications of AIG's bonuses or anything else political? I keep reading the same article but written by at least 20 journalists, and they all have the same pieces of information.
Haha, or you could be like the cool kids and just drop the class 😉
Finals end April 22nd for me, I think. I figure classes must end at least a week before that.

From personal experience the best diet is basically eating smaller portions, and cutting out only the completely horrible stuff like ice cream, sodas, etc...

Haha you're one smart man, glory.don't ask girls that![]()
HHHAATTEEE YOU!jg is a girl😕
That's the thing! You lose weight fast on the diet...but as soon as you get off it, you're back to the way you were. It's ridiculously hard to stick to a no-carb diet. I agree with funkmonk, the best diet is smaller portions.I'm sure we'll learn all about fad diets in med school, but until then, please forgive my ignorance regarding Atkins. I'm pretty sure he's kidding...at least he better be 😡
It had been a while, berk! But I'm pretty shocked YOU didn't know, Vadd! 😱
Seriously, we have this discussion once every month or so!
its so you can cut quickly and lose body fat...once youve lost that body fat, you can begin to maintain a regular diet with the amount of caloric intake that will allow you to maintain physique you like..ill go on a modified low carb, high protein diet to lean up b4 i head to the beach....once i get to my target weight/body type, ill resume eating carbs, but ill try to eat healthier for as long as i like to maintain my abs ha...
