Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Really? How come?

Who didn't? Except for Pianola, of course 😛

Wikipedia says 2003. I would have guessed 2001. Still that was my freshman year of college, I think funky should have been in 11th grade or so.

Haha, dude it was her *MOM*. I don't want any guy friend of mine hitting on my mom.

Not that that's in *any* way likely, but I would feel so...defeminized!

I do have cardamom in the house...does kheer taste better than custard?

What I added was vanilla extract + raisins + rice + sugar + eggs + zest + a little salt.

(I'm planning on baking this for Mr. Nola's mom).

Kheer is basically rice pudding in Hindi... Uh... I thought you were making rice pudding, which is generally rice, sugar, milk, and cardamom... and kewra, which is the scented oil of the screw pine, or rosewater....

I am not sure about custards... I never watched my mom make the actual custard, but I was usually the one who stirred everything on the stove as well as the icewater bath...

Since it is for Mr. Nola's mom, I would say no, do not add it, since you should not give her experimental food (until you become the daughter in law:laugh:)

I thought 9th grade, because my friend who I had geometry and precal with always sang that song...

It reminds me of my precal class, when my teacher got married, so we had a sub the whole week... Needless to say, none of the guys learned anything that week😛

Is defeminized the feminine version of emasculated?

EDIT: uTOPia

Fair enough. Unfortunately, there weren't too many hot moms in my neighborhood when I was growing up 🙁

Haha, yes, this is a good point. Maybe if I find a recipe for kheer I will use it at some point, though! 🙂

I'm making some kind of custard/rice pudding combination.

So there's rice in it and then also quite a bit of milk.

It should be good...it's not so rice-y that it's overwhelmingly grainy and it's not so custardy that it's overwhelmingly slimy. And the flavors mix well together.

PS. I used to love stirring the pot when I was little 😛

I took pre-calc in 11th grade. I think I was doing trig in 9th grade.

Hot subs FTW 👍

I know you guys are talking about rice pudding, but oh man, bread pudding is so good.

Very True, but which kind of bread pudding?

My mom makes one version that is a combination of an egg pudding and bread pudding, that is blended together, and then baked, so that on the base, all of the bread particles sink and come together to create a sweet bready base, and it has an sweet custard top : drool:

Bacchus, use your modly powers to make a drooling smilie

And then there is the bread pudding which is like french toast, except it is in rose flavored sweetened milk : drool:

Oops... writing : d r o o l : without the spaces turns into

My Math in Highschool was
9th Grade: Geometry (Honors... I was and still am an Honors *****🙄)
10th Grade: Algebra 2... I did not get into Honors, which was actually a good thing since I got the easiest teacher ever who had group tests😀 Group tests FTW!
11th Grade: PreCal/Trig... We had one semester of each
12th Grade: AP Calc BC (this was when we moved, so they only offered BC... needless to say, it was the first time I got a B in a math class in my life😳)

Is it weird that I hate almost all forms of pudding? The only kind I can tolerate is chocolate pudding and even then, I can't eat too much of it. Just something about the consistency rubs me the wrong way.

Are you kidding me? Pudding is a comfort food, so it can be eaten constantly at any time...

that's priceless. I'm a horrible night snacker. probably 20% of my days calories come after dark.
Sometimes I do really well and don't snack at all or only have one small healthy snack, other times.... 🙄

I am a horrible snacker, period, which is why I do not bring any junkfood to my apartment...except for Diddy Riese Cookies now and then: drool: (Darn it, we need a drooling smilie now!)

As a result, if I do crave a snack, I end up eating fruit (which is generally what my lunch, and sometimes part of my breakfast consists of)

my eating habits usually go:
Medium/large breakfast
Large Lunch
snack
Smallish Dinner
snack

plus coffee all day. I imagine I'll stop eating giant lunches/small dinners once I stop being able to set my own wacky scheduel.

Also, I generally don't lilke pudding, but this custard is ok. It's pretty firm. And the rice/raisin base is nice since the rice stuck to the bottom.

I... am EXTREMELY DRUNK!!! 😀

If it weren't for fb, I would think that you and Bacchus were the same person...

Sheesh, next thing you know, SDN will have an AA chapter... there are more than enough people who have been caught with alcohol on PA:meanie:

Oh and PA has been just fine for me...

YAY!!!!!! I AM EXTREMELY NOT DRUNK, BUT I AM VERY PLEASED THAT YOU ARE ENJOYING YOURSELF.

Have another, for my sake. 😛

I misread this and saw have another sake for me...

What was your good reason? Is it SDN appropriate?

I am tired... I did a surprising amount of homework and other logistical stuff...
