I agree with everyone else - you have an amazing application and influential extracurriculars. The fact that you got a Brown invite alone proves that. It is super selective (I think like 5% get invites or something like that) b/c of the PLME thing they have. Just give it some time, I know people with great applications that got interviews well into March. It seems so random which can be frustrating...but don't lose hope - you will do great! 😀

Yeah...I've gotten pretty paranoid about the whole anonymity thing during app cycle as well. I guess it doesn't matter that much...

Good Luck!!! I'm sure it'll go well and it won't be as scary as you think 👍 Get some sleep, too. I only got 2 hours of sleep before my Vandy interview...not the best idea.
 
Thanks for the luck guys I need all that I can get, and I trust in LET, she DOES know these things, I remember reading on her mdapps that one of her volunteer ECs was psychic for undeserved communities. 🙂

Yup. Their psychic needs were just not being met by the current healthcare system. I swooped in and bridged this clearly unacceptable gap. Gosh, hopefully our NEXT president will do something about it...Medicare Schmedicare I say, bring us more mind readers and fortune tellers.

In other news... I'm supposed to find out what part I have in my show tonight. I was hired by a local amusement park to be in their halloween musical revue show and they cast 8 people - 4 guys and 4 girls. But only 3 guys and 3 girls will get their own parts. The other 2 people are what they call "swings" - they have to learn every part in the show and fill in when people are sick/out of town. I really really don't want to swing because I want my own part and I want to be in every show! I'm nervous because one of the guys is awesome (he has this amazing voice that sounds like Jame Earl Jones) and there's no way they'd "waste" him on a swing, and another one of the guys doesn't have the vocal range to sing all of the parts. So [I think] it's between me and this other guy...

Relax... last year this time I had one interview (AECOM), and I ended up with 22 of them and I was complete in July.

I did (~3.7/39), but had a significantly lower GPA than the poster in question who has good stats also. I also didn't get an interview at Brown so <shrug>

Regardless, you have 8 interviews. I'd say your ups are going to far outweigh the downs of this app cycle 😉 Having 2 myself, I can only wonder how the others with 0 interviews so far are doing.

Hey everyone!!

Today is one of those insanely stressful days when i wonder how in the world I am expected to get through the next 9 months or whatever. I am still trying to schedule my East Coast trip but I am kind of pathetically holding out hope for more east coast schools before I buy tickets. I am cranky and bored and I want to have everything figured out already. This process is really crazy for its ups and downs, isn't it?

Sigh...anyways, I hope you are all having a much more relaxing day than I am 🙂
 
I feel your pain Ayushman....I applied to 38 schools and all I have so far is 1 interview (which I've already been to), 2 pre-interview waitlists, and 3 rejections. I haven't even gotten two secondaries from UC schools and I'm in state. I see others with similar stats with 5 or 6 interviews. I keep doubting my application, is it my PS? Is it my secondary essays? Is it my lack of clinical experience? I'm dying for that second invite!!!!

ive been getting on here for the last couple of weeks and looking at all the people with interviews. i applied MD and DO. I have 5 DO interviews and 1 MD interview. I applied to 25 schools (most MD) and im not getting a whole lot of love from them. Been rejected by case and wake forest, put on hold at vermont, UCONN, SUNY upstate, and only interview is at UK where im doing undergrad. Im really wanting some more MD interviews its killing me. My app is awesome minus the 25M on the MCAT (reseach publication, 3.8+ science and nonscience GPA, shadowing, volunteering, great rec letters ect....) i just wanting to join in and vent some anxiety

Vent away brother! Being on hold isn't the worst thing, its better than the silent rejection. Atleast you know they are interested in you.

Olive Garden never ending tonight, a friend is taking me for the bday (yes, it was like 3 weeks ago... its the first time we've been able to get together!).

That's about all I'm doin. No real plans 🙂

I'm excited because I'm going to a wedding-planning expo tonight with the boy, and tomorrow a bunch of friends are going out salsa dancing! Should be a good weekend 🙂 Although I do have exams on Monday...

Rehearsal tonight, callback audition tomorrow morning, rehearsal tomorrow afternoon/night, rehearsal sunday all day. 👍

At least I'm making bank these couple of weeks!

Hey everybody! I am reading quickly so I hope I didn't miss any big news...congrats Ayush!! copper have fun at the expo, eat some cake for me. LET, you're a shady mf, we all know it. 😛 BD2B please forgive my (implied) language in the previous sentence (I feel guilty for cursing around you. :laugh:). Red, good luck tomorrow, you're gonna rock it! Chad, good luck with the roles. This week has been frustratingly silent for me, I'm so glad it's ovah. No big weekend plans, just to clean my pigsty of an apartment. Wish me luck, it's a REALLY BIG JOB.

And my main point in posting was to send my thoughts to people down in TX/LA. I hope everyone is safe, along with their families.
