Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Hey all! Hope you're having a great day. Mine is mixed. I just realized that I booked the wrong return flight for my Dartmouth interview next week and that fixing in will cost me over 200 bucks 🙁. Oh well, it's fee for being stupid. On the other hand, I finally became complete at Yale! (SS: 7/10, C:9/19) Wow that took a long time.

In 10 years,$200 will get you a tank of gas, so really, no big deal 😉

not at all, the apps still seem to be rolling in. according to their website, they've received slightly over 3000 apps as of 9/9. it's one of the two new med schools in florida and they are partnered with florida hospital, orlando regional med center, m.d. anderson orlando, nemours children, and the orlando va. everyone in their 40 person inaugural class gets a full tuition scholarship + health insurance waiver + $20000/yr. stipend. 😀

Sweet. I was actually just kidding about applying there. I've got my hands full as it is. Best of luck to you though. Hope you get in!

Wow, I just got back from Vandy last night, and WOW!!!!!!!!!!

That school is amazing... It is all new and the campus is beautiful, and the curriculum is awesome, and Vandy is awesome, and the interview was relaxing, and the students there were nice, and
*takes a deep breath* 😱
the adcom is really nice, and Judy is really nice, and the undergrad campus is an arboretum, and the childrens hospital is really nice, and Vandy hospital is really nice, and the lecturers are really good, and the pathophysiology class is really fun and
*takes another deep breath*😱
Vandy is awesome, and their library is really nice, and Nashville is a really nice place to live, and the people in Nashville are really nice, and I really wanna go there, and if I get rejected I will be sad...

Now that that is over, I finally get to get out of the Central Time Zone, for my interviews, and I get to go to the Eastern Time Zone... I should start preparing for Buffalo, which had a frost advisory in the middle of September!

I would love to go there. That would be awesome. They said that they should send out the decision in 6 weeks... I do not know if I can wait that long...

Looks like you've got enough interviews during that time to keep you distracted. It is a long wait though...

I guess... but so far my interviews last until the October 13, not counting the UConn interview which is in January😕

6 weeks.. .GRRR.
Ha. I know the feeling.

So your interviews go until Oct 13...you should find out from your other interviewed schools starting Oct 15, which can also distract you until you get your trick or treat (hopefully treat) from Vandy around Halloween. See how much stuff you've got going on? You'll be fine. You won't even notice the time go by 🙄.

thanks gradu8in!

so i have a question, how much earlier before 10/15 do you have to interview in order to hear back on that date, as a general rule of thumb - 2 weeks? a month? 2 months?

I think it just depends on the school... each school does their ADCOM meetings a bit differently. So far, I have one school that met the day following my interview, another that meets within a week, but then again, some (like Vandy) take longer I know. So check with the schools you are applying to. 👍

On the road I go... Headed to the parent's for the night, then New Orleans tomorrow 🙂

See ya soon, AdmitER!

Good luck!! :luck::luck: Maybe you should sign "Grad Wuz Here" in a desk or something, so when I go next week I'll see it 🙂
Hope everything goes smoothly!

Hey, looks like a busy weekend for everyone. Lots of interviews flying around!

you'll be great! just relax, have fun, and be yourself. that is all that counts 👍
My friends know better than to tell me to be myself. No way i would ever get in, if i acted like myself
