Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Soooooooooo I got my first warning today because I accidentally reported erasing the contents of my iPod in the earlier religion thread when I thought I was in this thread. Yay! And I thought it was because of a joke I made, which would have made more sense, but whatever. I should probably keep only one window of SDN open at a time.

Berken FIX IT!

haha nice! KU med school is in Lawrence, too, right?

no...it's downtown Kansas City, Kansas. which is really too bad because i'll have a few friends doing super senior years up at KU. Granted this will probably be better for my studying that i won't be incredibly close to them. The law school, on the other hand, is in lawrence

 Sorry amph...it's out of my hands. Warnings are just warnings though...so don't worry about it. How's the ipod doing?

Ohhh I never knew that! Well that's even closer than I thought!

It's fine, I just had to resync it. It's still going though because my library is so huuuuuuuuuuge.

Sounds great! I called them earlier this week and they said my file was with the admissions committee and I should expect a 2-3 week wait. Bruin...I hate waiting! 🙁

Oh okay, thanks jgbrken! When were you complete?

I've found something better than coffee...Brace yourself: Sugar-free Rockstar. Yeah. It'll keep you up. 👍

I'm not still awake... But I AM awake for the start of the next day already! Yay for the other side of the country 🙂
Good luck on the exam!

You rebel, you!

Moral of the story: Don't post about iPods in religion threads, I guess. Heh, I wondered why you posted that amph 😉.

I'm as yet unwarned but I wonder how close I've come...

I just got back from UMD last night, and it was ridiculously awesome! The admissions office staff is like 5 Judy's from Vandy, and they are all really nice. The school is awesome, and my first interviewer spent the whole interview telling me about how great UMD is, and even though Hopkins is down the road, UMD makes great clinicians, etc... I really enjoyed it, the people are really nice, and since I did not have change for a 20 for the light rail, the admissions office staff gave me the money for the light rail which was nice, and asked my second interviewer to cut the interview short so that I would be able to make it to my flight on time. Wow, it was awesome! I now understand why everyone asks for a UMD interview on the Lucky Interview Thread!

As for me, it's more of the same.... tomorrow is general registration for the winter term which means it may be busy.

It also means that the President pays for lunch 👍👍

hey everyone!
here's to optimism. thanks for the positive messages, I'm thinking good thoughts today for everyone 🙂

Top of the morning to you all!

wow...I have not checked into this thread in a while...seems like everyone is doing well.

Hey, many of us might be classmates next year.

best of luck to everyone

Uh oh... Did you apply to Columbia? Or AECOM?
Yeah, I applied to Columbia. They didn't like me as much as they liked you...but that's another story.

What other schools do we have? We can go to UVA? Columbia? Penn? or Northwestern? Take your pick...those are the only schools that overlap. The other schools I didn't apply to or canceled the interviews.

Well of those four I probably have the best shot at UVA - I'm hoping to get an interview invite in the next few months... but honestly I'd prefer to be somewhere more metropolitan. Penn or Northwestern would be great, if either would invite me for an interview. 🙄

Of course, I'd love for us both to get into Columbia - now that would just be ideal! 🙂

I'll do what I can, Chad! I called the school a couple days ago and the lady said I was under review (again). Maybe they'll like me the second time around 😛 Probably not, though.

come on guys, how about some Jayhawk love?

funkmonk - I'm glad you really liked Maryland! It is an AMAZING school! Maybe we'll end up there as classmates together. 👍😀

Yah, that would be awesome! JG, it is your fault for not applying to such an awesome school.

Admissions will tell you it can take up to 6 weeks, but you should hear back before then. It seems to be taking either 3 weeks or 4 weeks post-interview.

Did you like Maryland more than SLU?

Knowing my luck with waittimes, it will take 6 weeks...

I cannot answer the second question until I have an acceptance in hand...

I hope i end up at Maryland with you all too. It is a great place... i am already a balti..*****. The school really is top notch, and the students are happy!

Congrats on your acceptance Chad, kodos being OOS.

WOOT, 1000th Post!

Congrats! :hardy:

I understand. But let me know as soon as you get the acceptance packet from Maryland. 😉

Good luck to you and thanks for the congrats! My interviewer did tell me that they have a slight preference toward Virginia residents, and I'm glad they do. Maryland is an incredible school.

aloha
i am beyond pumped it's the weekend. homecoming football game tomorrow against UVA which will be big. then i get to study for 2 exams on monday and tuesday. woooo

I have a busy but exciting weekend as well. Work today, then rehearsal in the early evening, then I'm going to see "tick, tick... boom" at a small black box theatre tonight. Then tomorrow I have rehearsal from 11-5 and I'm hanging out with my family for my Mom's birthday. Then on Sunday afternoon I will be in the studio recording and have Sunday night to myself!

It's the first weekend that I haven't had to perform 11 shows since mid-September, so I'm definitely excited about doing my own thing. Woot!

Oh yeah, well I get a five day weekend!😱 I got done with class today at 9, and I am going back home. Then Yay for UCSD interview on the monday, no school on Tuesday, since it is Veteran's Day! Woohoo!

Man, my weekend pales in comparison to some of y'alls. My gf is coming into town, but we don't have any specific plans. Probably just a fair amount of hanging around and doing not much of anything. Meh.

Hey, sometimes just hanging out and having free time to be spontaneous is better than making plans. Plus I'm sure you'll be glad to see your gf. 🙂

Question for the California people on this thread:

I know your state schools are hard to get into (resident or otherwise). Are they also similar in cost for residents and OOSers, or are they quite a bit less expensive for residents?

(Just out of curiosity; I didn't apply to any Cali schools).

Much less expensive for residents. For residents, tuition is 0 (although they have 20-25K "fees"). For non-residents, they have a 20K tuition plus the fees...so it's about 45K.

hey guys! im watching this insane documentary about cults... freaking horrifying!!!
i decided to pass/fail my literature class so this semester i willhave only 2 graded classes.. eek! lol

😱:wow:! Wow. That's impressive.

Been steady... not too busy but definitely steady.

My weekend plans are to pack. Yuck. At least mom's coming up. Between the two of us, we should be able to get some things done.
