Whats up everyone! I'm a little late to the party but rest assured I read all of your quality posts I missed during the game 😀

I'm watchin animal planet.....some whacky stuff man. Its about cannibalism in different animals. Pretty weird/nasty to watch.

I know about it in Sharks, Polar Bears and Zebra fish. Anything else? I'm a fan of animal planet when I'm bored. I also liked the Planet Earth series a ton.

Spiders, chimpanzees, certain frogs, and this rat/rodent lookin thing. They also talked about sharks, but no mention of zebra fish or polar bears. Ive heard great things about planet earth. Ive only watched a little tho, I'd like to watch more.

Yeah, if you're into sweet shots of nature and wildlife, planet earth is the holy grail. (The BBC version >>> American version) It looks amazing in high-def.

Man, its kinda lonely in here.

Hey guys. Sounds like some fun with the sports.

OK, I have to share my wonderful, wonderful evening last night because I figure my real-world friends are probably sick of hearing how awesome my boyfriend is. Actually, you guys might be after this post, too. So I'll keep it brief.

I had a perfect, perfect evening last night with my s.o. to celebrate our anniversary. He went all over town to get my favorite sake (the alcoholic beverage) even though he doesn't really like any kind of alcohol whatsoever. He also picked up my favorite dessert and then my Christmas gift was the first season of my favorite TV show. He's just incredibly giving and thoughtful. I've never met anyone like him in my entire life. It's not even the fact that he was so on-target with what I liked -- it was the fact that he tried 🙂

This timing makes me so nervous, though! Right now he's working temp jobs while applying for real ones because he just graduated with a graduate degree in engineering. I just wonder what sacrifices either he or I would be willing to make come May 15th (or whether sacrifices will be necessary)...I wonder where one goes to get counseling on 'couples careers'. Maybe my current school has some ideas 😕.

Anyway, happy Christmas Eve 🙂 For right now, I'm just going to enjoy the wonderful feeling of having such a kind partner and friend.

as for the timing, im with you there. my bf is applying to chem phd programs and doesnt yet know whether he will stay in nyc or not (although he wants to)...

Aww cute. But yeah, totally feel your pain with the s.o./moving for school thing... something my girlfriend of 4 years (this February) and I are going to have to deal with 🙁

Also, I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with everyone here that I did not wake up to 3 more pages this morning😡 Especially you, berk, you really slacked off last night.

Finishing college (I'm a year older than her) and applying to med school herself. Hopefully she winds up in or near Houston (if indeed I wind up at Baylor, as it's looking increasingly likely), but of course, nothing's guaranteed in this process. So we're kind of bracing to do the long-distance thing, at least next year if not longer 🙁

🙁...although, you know, Baylor has all the lectures on-line, so it might not be impossible to just miss a few Fridays/Mondays in a row...That would give you some more time together.

Hmm that's a good idea. The only problem is I think Mondays are one of the Anatomy days, and I can't really miss those... but missing some Fridays might work... Thanks! What a grand idea!

🙂 My student host at Baylor had a fiance in Dallas, I believe. According to her (and according to my interviewer who knew my host!) my host is doing excellently in school. And my host specifically told me for a fact that she gets almost all of her lectures off-line so she can visit her s.o. from time to time. I could maybe give you her name at some point; she might have some better ideas. She is also a native Texan.

I'm personally hoping that the on-line lectures will allow me to go to one of my closest friends' weddings in August this year.

Heh, I've never actually had a sake bomb before. I really don't drink that much...but I do like hot sake when I choose to have a drink. My s.o. doesn't like to drink at ALL. So I guess we've found a sort of compromise where we'll very occasionally have a drink for special occasions 🙂

Same here... I am sick again, because usually I sleep early and wake up early... plus the effing rains started again, and I have not gone running, so my lungs fell like crud...

Oh and my dad was lecturing me on how I need to be a better person and think about other people and not just myself...or something like that at 6:30 AM and my head was so stuffy that all I could do is nod, and then I fell asleep... at least I tried to and then my little brother kept coming in the room and disturbing me...

Dartmouth sounds really good right now? (It is 2951 miles away from home... you know what they say... absence makes the heart grow fonder...) Does anyone know when they come out with the decisions😛

Are people heading up to Big Bear or something? Mt. High is not as great, but usually you can get up there without snow tires or chains...much easier drive!!!

I barely know anyone on this board now since I have not been on here for a while...but regardless...just stopping in to say WHAT's UP!!!!

and I feel so blessed this year. who needs presents when you've got friends and family... and a med school acceptance? sure it's not 5 of them... but its the one I wanted.

God's been so good to me that the presents are just icing on the cake.

I actually have never boarded; however, I do ski. I am back in town till the 6th so I might just head up to the slopes with a couple of buddies and learn how to snowboard. We will see
