Riceman....Mt High is a piece of $&$%. Its the same price as Bear, half the size, and only has like two chair lifts. Ive only been there once and refused to ever give my money to them again. I actually ended up going again but it was b/c i got a free ticket. IMO it is WAY worth getting chains and driving in snow up to bear. what do you think?

Thats why southern california is so friken awesome. See, none of us actually live in cold weather. Its between 60-70 for the most part (with the occasional cold, rainy day, but happens very very rarely), but the moutnains are no more than 2-2.5 hours away! Its the best of both worlds! I hate being there when it snows.... I just check the weater and go up AFTER the storm is over so I can just enjoy the benefits....mwa ha ha.

edit: 60-70 (often times higher) IN THE WINTER.

Ughh sugar overload... we finally made fudge and chocolate rice krispies... both things that I cannot buy because they have gelatin in the store bought versions... I think the fudge might have been cooked a bit too much, but it does not matter... its not like anyone in my family has eaten real fudge:laugh:

hahahahahaha...so true...Mt. High is crap and it usually has a much lower snow pack too. Sometimes I just get tired of the drama trying to get up to Bear Mountain.

OK, I have to share my wonderful, wonderful evening last night because I figure my real-world friends are probably sick of hearing how awesome my boyfriend is. Actually, you guys might be after this post, too. So I'll keep it brief.

I had a perfect, perfect evening last night with my s.o. to celebrate our anniversary. He went all over town to get my favorite sake (the alcoholic beverage) even though he doesn't really like any kind of alcohol whatsoever. He also picked up my favorite dessert and then my Christmas gift was the first season of my favorite TV show. He's just incredibly giving and thoughtful. I've never met anyone like him in my entire life. It's not even the fact that he was so on-target with what I liked -- it was the fact that he tried 🙂

This timing makes me so nervous, though! Right now he's working temp jobs while applying for real ones because he just graduated with a graduate degree in engineering. I just wonder what sacrifices either he or I would be willing to make come May 15th (or whether sacrifices will be necessary)...I wonder where one goes to get counseling on 'couples careers'. Maybe my current school has some ideas 😕.

Anyway, happy Christmas Eve 🙂 For right now, I'm just going to enjoy the wonderful feeling of having such a kind partner and friend.

I went to my grandparents for christmas and right before I left my family pulled out a cookie cake that said: congrats doctor lyss.

no lie it said doctor lyss. I laughed out loud thinking of my sdn name hehe. Maybe they know about my sdn account >gasp<

Lets see... LA rules... Irvine sucks (Sorry ryserr) SD is meh, but it breaks my heart... Davis is as much fun as a cows behind... Cal... lets just say I rejected them twice... Merced is new and therefore negligible.... Riverside is too hot, Santa Cruz shouldn't be considered a UC... and do I need to even mention the University of Casual S*x and Beer (UCSB)

so did you transfer from irvine to LA? or what did you do at Irvine? was that after your undergrad at LA?

Yup I transferred from UCI to UCLA after two years... all of my premed stuff was at Irvine, so basically I boosted up my GPA, put a buffer around it, and then fled like a bat out of h*ll. It is a nice school, but the only reason I chose it was because my sister went there, I live in Irvine, so I lived at home, and I got a full scholarship there... I wasn't very happy there, so after two years I transferred...and I am very glad I made this decision.😀

I am still in my 4th year here at UCLA.

cool beans. I'm not a big fan of their undergrad myself (huge rivalry with their rugby team...biggest group of douchebags youve ever seen).

I think my transferring is one of the biggest reasons I got rejected by UCI so early on... I think that they probably thought that I wouldn't wanna go there...

I hope UCLA can see that I wanna go there so badly I gave up a full scholarship... The letters start coming mid-late January...:scared:

Clever for a berkeley grad i guess 😛. I visited once for my friends 21st bday. It was a good time. Went up to the top of that clock tower, ran around the football stadium, saw the hippies in the trees, haha. It was interesting place to say the least.

Oh and we also went to some kareokee (sp) bar....i think it was one of the "popular" ones. I'm not really much of a singer, at least when i'm sober, haha.

I am just kidding... But Cal doesn't hate Stanford as much as USC hates UCLA. USC is the real bunch of losers. I stand firmly by this fact!😛 I hate them so much, I couldn't bring myself to do their secondary😱
