yea I have to believe that I have to date a doctor in order to have a happy marriage. I mean guys aren't really limited to dating other doctors, so why should women. I know my bf doesn't mind me being his suga mama for awhile haha

Yeah. For some reason, my bf really loves it that I'm doing something I'm passionate about. I tried to explain 36 hour shifts to him. I guess we'll find out if we're strong enough to make it. He's just very proud of me that I've worked so hard for this.

But you're right. It's gonna be quite a struggle. I think he's stronger and slightly more independent than I am.

Here's hoping?

Was your boyfriend unwilling to move to keep the relationship? 🙁

It seems like dating during med school will be hard because 1) in the case of meeting before entering med school and then getting into a med school in another city, you can't really expect someone to follow you around without a commitment like at least a ring and 2) you can't expect a normal person to be ok with dating someone who makes little time to talk or get together but is always studying...

Yeah, I know. And yet, I thnk my bf will be willing to do it for me. I think it's also a function of the two of us being very slightly older. And the fact that he's taking the relationship very seriously. And that he's done with his education.

I obviously dont know you or your ex, but i do know MALES, and to be honest if he broke up with you after 5 years b/c you "chose your career over him", then he probably had some other reason as well. My gf and I (been together almost two years) are definitely gonna give it a shot, and see if we can make it work. I'm only gonna be about 45 min away, so its definitely worth it.

P.s. i'm sorry he did that.
 
5 years, and it was over because of med school app process? You should probably be glad he broke up with you now, rather than May 16th

Believe me, if he's willing to move, live with me during the 4 years of med school, 3 years of residency etc there is going to be NO pre-nup necessary.

I think the primary reason me & the redhead made it through 4 years long distance was we had complete trust in each other... and we are gonna need it for the next 4! sigh

Yeah, he's a sweetheart. He had a tough childhood. He was nearly separated from his sister. He could barely communicate with his father as a child because they didn't speak the same language. He's very independent.

One of the first things he told me about himself was that he values his family. He lives that commitment daily.

Here's hoping, I guess...

Afterall, my ACT reading of 12 (no joke, I can dig it up and take a pic lol) was a consequence of my failure to attend Derek Zoolander's academic institution. Luckily, I taught myself how to read and somehow managed a just slightly below avg verbal
