Hmm, maybe they're doing that to weed out the people who automatically throw out smaller envelopes.

Yeah. Thankfully we are close phone and email buddies,a lot more so than in person. And med school town is actually closer to where she lives than my college town (weird, I know... but its like 90 minutes here and an hour to med school).

I had 2 large envelopes (which came after emails anyway) and a small one, which came after a phone call. So I was forewarned for everything I guess, but I still wish Vandy had sent a large envelope. First of all, they sent the interview invite in a small envelope, which scared the hell out of me, and now the acceptance letter is all bent and it won't look as pretty when I frame it and put it on my wall 😳

If you're really wanting to frame it (I'm assuming no joke), I'm sure they'd print you a nice pretty one if you ask 🙂

Haha yeah I really do frame that stuff. My mom's office/computer room at home has all our framed diplomas, awards, and the acceptance letters of the places where my sisters and I ended up. I'm going to frame my Vandy acceptance letter and scholarship letter, both of which were all folded and stuff 🙁. Maybe I'll ask them to print me a nice one...but I guess it wouldn't have that "authentic" feel.

no it totally makes sense if you are seriously considering them. dude, i'm still hoping for more interview invites (note the begging in the lucky interview thread) ...

My HS diploma is sitting in my closet inside the envelope I got it in. My college diploma is sitting on top of the refrigerator (it's bigger so there wasn't enough room in the closet). Eventually I'll get a diploma frame from the VCU bookstore (the nice ones that cost like $140) and hang it up somewhere.

I have the framed stuff too 🙂🙂 I'm the only child, so Mama's crazy about that stuff... And I'm awful proud of my diplomas.. I have them hanging, and will always 🙂
 
All of my Snail Mail decisions have followed the Large Envelope Small envelope stereotype.
 
wow, this must be an american thing. i didn't graduate from hs so i can't hang that up. i guess i could frame my acceptance letter except i gave it to my parents haha

I don't remember getting a physical diploma. I probably did...I remember walking across the stage at the graduation ceremony with an empty diploma case because the school hadn't actually figured out who had graduated (grades came out after the ceremony.)

Haha I didn't hang up my high school one, but I did get an award for having gotten a lot of 5's on my AP's and that's up, and another award for languages that I got in high school. All of this stuff is at my mom's house by the way- someday I'm going to have to demand to have my own diplomas and I'm pretty sure she'll just tell me to get new ones 🙄

When my brother graduated from Baylor University (undergrad) they handed out diplomas in a tube. He got his tube and after the graduation we opened it. Inside there was a piece of paper that said "unfortunately we have mis-spelled your name on your diploma so you will be receiving it in the mail." :laugh: That totally sucks!
 
i got one of those AP awards too, but that, along with my HS diploma, Bachelor's degree, and a couple of other awards, are all collecting dust in my closet. maybe i'll frame them someday, but for now, it doesn't really matter to me.

My hs diploma is in my room not hung up, but it is on the bookshelf. My mom still has my acceptance letters for undergrad, and I am keeping all of the med school stuff, although I need to go and sort it out... all my mail goes to my home (as in my parents place) rather than my apartment for school, cuz I go home almost every weekend...😀

I just saw that a football Safety graduating from Florida State Univ just got named a Rhodes Scholar and he will be foregoing the nfl draft for two years to complete get a Masters at Oxford.

I guess not all football players are stupid, lol.

Nope it is not over. At my interview, they told me that they got their invites in February and interviewed in March, and were subsequently accepted... So there is still hope.

Also, WHEN😉 you guys get your interview, we could meet up in Westwood... they have A LOT of amazing restaurants here😀
