Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
one is killing it. She has a sub-30 MCAT but she got a full scholarship to Vandy! Let alone all the other amazing schools she got into - including Cornell. I'm not surprised. She's awesome. I just hope she comes to NY with me.

The other has only been accepted to Downstate 😀 so you guys might be classmates!

I feel you. I have a friend who just straight up deleted me from facebook and her phone cause she freaked out about us applying the same year (I didn't even realize she was applying...) and so she didn't have to read where I was going to go when I got in (yes, she's not very well-adjusted). Another "friend" has been making veiled "well of course you got in, you're URM" comments, and yet another has stopped talking to me because she feels like she's being a lot more successful than I am and she "doesn't want me to feel bad" (uhmmm...I'm doing just fine). Oh, premeds. It's honestly never occurred to me that friends of mine from school were my competition, but I guess they're all painfully aware of it.

LET. I will never delete you from facebook. I refresh your facebook profile every 5 minutes.

And that is why I only have 3 friends who are applying.

One is one of my best friends that I met in my Kaplan MCAT class. She got a 26 MCAT but was accepted at VCU in the first round of acceptances! The second is a reapplicant this year. He got a 28 on the MCAT and was rejected post-interview at VCU and EVMS last year. He's doing the SMP now at VCU but got straight B's. He interviewed at VCU a few weeks ago. My third friend applied to about 10 schools and didn't get any interviews (her MCAT was extremely low).

I didn't associate with "pre-meds" in college. I was a forensic science student who happened to be applying to medical school. Fortunately, that kept me separated from all of the "pre-med drama" that occurred.

YaY that's awesome. I cried when I got my MCAT score. Cried like a baby. I thought it was a death sentence (and it probably could of/should have been) but it's nice to see other people with a 26 doing good!

just got word from Dartmouth that I have been waitlisted (interviewed in late september). I'm gonna stay on the waitlist to see what happens.

All of my friends are doing amazing! Like most have interviewed at all the top 10s and have multiple acceptances. I'm so proud of all of us 😛

Hehe, I know 3 other people who've applied. 0 acceptances among them 🙁

I have friends who have interviewed at top schools and others who have not gotten any interviews... I tell them stuff but not everything...

Hahahaha thank you 😀

You are welcome! I refresh your profile in the hope that, perhaps, just maybe, the next F5 will bring about your previous profile picture 😍😍😍

Haha, I kid, I'm not a breast nor a glut man. I get turned on by pretty faces and toned bodies

Time for a new avatar, me thinks. One avatar a day is my new rule of thumb.

😍😍 2013. We're getting closer, guys!

What are you guys getting your significant others for Valentine's Day? I'm kind of stumped.

I'm trying to figure out how to make his interests into a gift.

So far I've come up with weightlifting, guitar, comedy movies, golf, and games like poker, Trivial Pursuit, chess, etc. etc. etc.

Hey are any of your friends applying with you guys in this cycle? Do you tell them about your progress (both success and failure) or do you keep it to yourself?
I keep it to myself unless people ask or it seems relevant to the conversation that's going on--or they are very very close and have expressed hurt when I have not shared good news with them before . Inevitably there's going to be some awkward situation where you're accepted to someone's dream school and they have yet to get an interview or something. Rather delay that as long as possible.

same for me.

I'm re-watching Team America.

"You gotta have a montage!"

I have never seen it, but it looks like the stupidest movie in the world...

I mean, it depends on your sense of humor I guess. If you like South Park, you'll like the movie since it's the same guys who created the show.

It's intentionally supposed to look stupid, but there's some pretty good satire in there.

I think the TOP thing is running out of steam anyway. All the good pictures have pretty much been used already.

Preparing lesson plans for Kaplan is the suck 😡

is the show anygood?
i'm pooped.. i havent been sleeping well and may just pass out right now.
good night guys!!

I have a good friend at my school who is in an interesting situation. He's an international student who has a 34 MCAT, 3.9+ GPA, and has had only one interview invitation (he applied to around 10 schools, many of them mid and lower tier). He hasn't heard back yet after the interview, but guess where it was? Johns Hopkins. Go figure.

Just fell asleep for two hours. I am still a bit out of it.

It's too early to sleep. I'm marathoning House, instead.

Haha, maybe I should just read a book...
