Arrrrrrrghhhhhh, I need to know about UVA NOW! Knowing that the decision has probably already been made, and that it was made four floors below me, is absolutely killing me. I'll cry if I'm waitlisted. I can't take four waitlists and a rejection in a row. I have to go to UVA. I love UVA. They know I love UVA. Please, please, please!!!!!!!!

Update: we gave up on pizza and had taco bell. Damn pizza dude never found his way here.

I need to drive home and figure out how I am celebrating tonight , so I'll talk to you all later.
Hopefully, Chad and Pianola will get their packages soon.

Nah, I only interviewed at two schools and I could definitely tell the difference between UVA and WashU.:laugh:

Funny interview story! So I'm at <pick one and insert here> with an MSinsertnumberhere interviewer and he says "So, I see in your essay you thought you might have trouble delivering bad news. Let's roleplay. I have cancer. Tell me."

So I think "halp!halp!halp!halp!" and say "So, have a seat." To which he responds "I'm sitting."
"halp!halp!halp!halp!"
"I'm going to discuss some treatment alternatives with you, so I think it might be best if you a family member or a friend to sit with you..."
"I don't have any family."
"halp!halp!halp!halp....err... uh, well then... uh...I have some bad news for you: you have cancer...and...uh--"
"What kind of cancer?"
"Uh, what kind of cancer do you have again?"
"Oh, I thought you knew something about cancer."

I'm pretty pro-cornell even though they didn't interview me 🙁 My brother went there and I was around quite a bit! My postbac program links to Pitt so I know a lot of people there. Personally I think Cornell has significantly better opportunities, faculty, clinicals, and reputation, although Pitt is a nice school too. The only thing that my brother didn't like about Cornell is the hierarchical old school style at NYP. I am not sure Pittsburgh is any different in that respect, though.

👍 very helpful, thanks! Me and a friend were actually talking about this "hierarchy" today. We know about it from our summer at Cornell but its hard to really find out about it for other schools unless you know the right people.

Thanks guys. Chad if you're out there waiting, I'm waiting, too.

One of my friends recommended reinterviewing with Dean Frantz but I'm not that hardcore. If I'm WLed or rejected then so be it. My friend also noted that ~half of his Columbia class got in off the waitlist.

So...keep your head up.

I guess I'm going to start planning my life not-in-NYC even if it's not totally over yet.

They meet each Friday to make a decision on that week's interviewees. I'm hoping they mailed out letters today so I have an outside chance of getting it tomorrow.
