Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
you can contribute to the fight against health disparities from any specialty. It's easier to do & more apparent from primary care, but I've met people from all kinds of specialties that have dedicated their lives to working with the underserved.
I've been doing a lot of research and talking to people who grew up outside the US, and it seems that it is not necessarily true. It really depends on your demeanor. That is, you will be able to help out, no matter what specialty you decide on so long as you really care to help out.

Not that it makes things any better for her right now, but the biopsies and samples came back.

Her dad's cancer was a late Stage IV. He would've been going through extensive chemo/radiation and still probably only made it a few months.

Eventually maybe this info will ease the pain.

I'm trying to think of ways to approach my boss about taking 10 days off... they freak out if I ask for one day off

Oh yay, I finally got rejected from South Alabama. Ha!

That makes the application cycle officially over for me (except for my waitlists).

👍👍
hooray!

I still havent heard from 4 schools..and havent heard post int from 2...imgetting kind of sick of it.

I was decided, but I like the finality of having decisions from everywhere.

I'm vaguely suprised I didn't get an interview at South. I am considered IS bc I'm in the county next to them. Oh well, their process is kinda shoddy anyway... it's all snail mail and I was complete in August and this was the first word I have heard from them.

I hope residency apps are more streamlined than that.

Hey Chad! Hey 2013 peeps! Gorgeous day in the DC area. Gonna go hang with Mrs. Chuck and the Dog.

Is it me or are the forums kind of dead? All my subscribed threads are....

Well I hear crickets....

Oh BTW, someone remind me to discuss Irish Car Bombs when I come back!

Seems like it's off-season for SDN. Lol.

MCAT will be picking up shortly, and PA will pick up in May/June.

woohoo Charlotte bobcats have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs this year!! Granted not a chance in hell they will beat cleveland, Boston, or Orlando in a 7 game series, but still atleast they might make it.

You're a Bobcats fan? Did you used to be a Hornets fan before they moved?

Geez, our office is so tense now. It used to be so relaxed but like 1.5 months ago everyone just got all stand-offish... I don't really what happened. 😕

I wish I had a different job.

Boooo, drama.👎

Invite them all for ice cream and all will be forgiven?

I don't know about that.

It might all have to do with a bunch of stuff going on - we have had like three grant submissions in the past couple of weeks, deadlines are coming up on some of our studies, two of our grad students are pregnant, and our boss just had surgery on her foot... It's actually nice going to rehearsal at night. It's a good break from all the drama.

Good morning!😀

It looks like Spurs is starting to pull ahead of me, so I'll be a little more active today.

Me? Competitive? Why would you say something like that???

You have no hope Myuu 😛

I nominate Topper!

I second this nomination 😀

Awww, too much stress! It does sound like you all need a good break, though.😳

My vote is for happy hour instead. Irish car bombs solve all conflicts

My bad on that one. I was taunting them and then Caesar came along 😳

Might they also cause conflict as well?

Edit: Radioactive isoTOPe!

I give you the all-encompassing wisdom of Homer Simpson:

"Here's to alcohol: the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems."

Purple are my favorite, but they HAVE to be seedless.

These are green. Dad bought em and didn't know better.

But I'd rather green seedless than purple seeded.

Well, if you don't want them, I have no problem with taking them off your hands. Well... no problem other than several hundred miles...
