Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I drive everywhere, pretty rare I take planes.

These are pretty sweet though.

Haha, I always loved those fighter jets with the shark face painted on the nose 😛

Patrick McBride? I took a public health class last spring in anticipation of upcoming interviews and he was the lecturer for one of the classes.

Yup, the associate dean for students. I thought he looked just like Dave Wannastedt (former Miami Dolphins coach, current Pitt football coach) when he walked into the room to give the welcome talk/overview.

When i fly I deliberately pick certain flight times that correspond to the type of equipment used b/c different aircraft have different ammenities.

I fly Continental as much as possible. And I know that on Continental all of their aircraft from their boeing 737-800 on up (all the way to boeing 777) have TV screens; however, not all of those aircraft have personal TV screens. The Boeing 737-800, 737-900, and Boeing 757-300 have drop down screens every 3 or 4 rows. So on those aircraft you cannot choose your own movie like you can on the other continental aircraft that offer in flight entertainment.

What the heck? You're really into flying in style. I mainly try to make sure that my flight is the cheapest flight possible. I've never flown Continental though... do you have to pay extra for the in-flight entertainment (choosing your own movie sounds sweet).

Yeah. False advertising? I mean if you're a TX resident it's all nice and hunky dory.

I guess Baylor forgot that I also live in the South and that Southerners do not expect to pay Northern prices for education.:laugh::laugh:

Yeesh. Definitely sounds like false advertising. Defer a year and buy some land in Texas? 😉

I didn't know you were from MI!

Yup, I'm from Farmington Hills/West Bloomfield if you know where that is. Metro Detroit area, are you from MI too? 🙂

2 of mine were like that. Aren't those just a delight?

Both of mine are like that too, though IS tuition for Downstate helps a bit. I'm still not sure how much they're charging for room & board, but I should be close to 40K COA per year.

this place is rocking tonight. Hit 1000 pages before 5/15?

Yep, I still live there too. I shall PM you as well. Pretty much everyone here already knows where I'm at, but I fear (somewhat irrationally?) lurking e-stalkers...😳

ohhhhhhhh is that a warthog

Yup. I know nothing about planes, but that is my favorite one.

You don't pay extra for in-flight entertainment. Continental just has the best service of all the legacy carriers hands down

Let's see, 11600 posts/24 days = 483.333 posts per day (>9 pages per day).

😱😱 That's basically 24 more days of tonight's thread activity. I don't think we're quite THAT bored...

Not bad... not bad. I'll have to look into Continental when I take a housing trip to wherever I'm going to go this fall.

there's a poster called DukeMurken lol

Yeah, I don't think we're gonna make it to 50K before 5/15.

I think the goal should be to surpass the 2-7 AM Crew in post count. That's the biggest thread on SDN right?

I'm easily amused. Have 110 pages of The Impressionist to read for tmr, gonna have to start soon

How's British Airways?

ohhhhhhhhh man...BA is awesome!!! Of course they are going to have inflight entertainment on their transatlantic flights

but even their coach is pretty sweet on their aircraft use for domesting and shorter intra-european routes

that i shouldn't love you...

Well, you know, maybe you should take her advice. Your girlfriend probably knows what she's talking about. 😛

Yeesh. Definitely sounds like false advertising. Defer a year and buy some land in Texas? 😉

That thought had occurred to me more than once. Actually if I hold down a full-time job for a whole year I don't need to buy the land.

We're the fastest growing! (at least tonight we are 😛)

I own land in Tx...but I'm no tex res...don't want to be either

That's why I loved flying Qantas. Their flights were always 10+ hours from the States so we were on 757+... got inflight, individual entertainment.

you mean a 747

where did you fly out of (in the states?)

Oof, I guess that means private loans? 🙁

Eh... We'll see. Most of what's not covered is living expenses. If my brother doesn't charge me rent that's more than half of what's not covered, and I'll see what I can do about getting the rest without taking out loans. It might be a small enough amount that I might be able to get my parents to help out.

😳
You own land?😕

yeah 😳

both sides of my fam are from Texas originally!

My grandfather was the mayor of a town called Kendleton, Tx...right outside of Houston. He started off as a sharecropper (only went to the 2nd grade) and was elected mayor by the town....He bought ranch land and then gave it my father who then gave it to me when I started college at Rice.

My mom's dad own's land and property in Port Aurthur, Tx (you know the place hit by hurricane Rita...the one right after Katrina same year)...he gave me some of his land as well

Holy crap! I just got a review on fanfiction.net for something I wrote nearly ten years ago! 😱 This happens like, once every year or two.

I don't know what's worse. That I have stuff on fanfiction.net, that people still read it, or that it was less than ten years ago that I wrote this stuff!

In case someone asks, I used to write pokemon fanfiction. 😳

EVIL LANDOWNERS! We fully regard civil wars, i.e., wars waged by the oppressed class against the oppressing class, slaves against slave-owners, serfs against land-owners, and wage-workers against the bourgeoisie, as legitimate, progressive and necessary! :meanie:😉

jk lol. The fact that you have land in Texas is pretty sweet though, build your own vacation home/ranch in Texas just like Bush 43... not a bad idea man. Maybe you're sitting on oil..

I've always wanted to fly on a 747. They're the ones with the middle aisle, right?

yeah...but not only 747's have the middle rows of seats between two aisles...767's, 777's, and soon the new 787's (dreamliner) will have them as well

Hell yeah its the biggest.
How else do you think I got so many posts?

Yeah, there must be something in the water tonight

Tasted more like vodka to me...
