Class of 2013!!!

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Most of my friends are either premed, a few are predental, and some pre-phd, and there are the occasional pre-law, and the engineers....

Okay, mine are all diverse...

Mine are mostly english/lit and engineers. Who knows what all of you people are. 😛

Being friends with all science majors (for the most part) sucks because when I meet up with old friends I'm inclined to talk science which doesn't work too well.

I got helped by starting out as an econ major, so I know people in the science and business departments.

Most of my more recent friends are generally science majors though.

:hello:

Well, I guess that's an ex-:hello:...

Lol, see I meet programmers everywhere.

(*!@#&$(* the Lions came to a deal with Stafford. I'm not a big fan of his, I know that much.. I don't even know if his namesake loans are something to welcome or not. lol

At least they didn't pick Crabtree

(nothing against Crabtree, fine player)

Lol, you need to hang out here more. All multiples of 10,000 are very coveted posts.

Also the tops following said coveted post are highly coveted (hence the 40k and 40k+1)

The races to them are usually very intense.

But.. why is that? They're just posts. lol. I still don't really get the whole "bottom" and "top" thing either, there are plenty of those to go around. Type A personalities? 😉 Yeah, I guess maybe I have to hang out here more..

Good point, sir. I guess the only thing worse than picking a guy who completed 55% of his passes in college is to get another wide receiver in the first round. Millen has struck gold only once of the 3 times he did that. Yikes.

that's probably it, 'i'm really competative with everything. I won't speak for everyone else. It is great fun competing for them though.

I took them soooooooo long to fire him.

crap crap crap!
i was just reminded that my 1/2 IronMan race is in a week! I'm sooooo not prepared =/
well...not prepared for the run that is. I've been going the distance on the swim and bike quite often. But my runs have not been for more than 6 miles at a time! I should hit a ten mile run soon...now im training out of fear =S

We don't make such rules against you in our thread. 🙁

hahaha actually id like to see that KSmi...if you DO happen to nab the 40K post--I hope you can handle all the taunting and ridicule and abuse you'd get from the posters in this thread! I heard Myuu eats C/O 2014'ers for breakfast...just sayn!

I'm not gonna steal it... don't worry. But not because I'm afraid of you people, because I'm a nice person. 😀

Good luck.

I don't think I've ever consecutivly ran more than 3 miles.

hehe. Well I can't even stop you from getting our tops since I can't delete my posts....

Eww... I have realized that I have become really bony... which is not good...🙁

It is mostly my arms/ upper body... it is kind of gross, because I am completely disproportionate....

Don't forget brunch, lunch, supper, dinner, post-dinner snack, midnight snack, early-morning cravings...

Mock Draft:

1. Detroit Matthew Stafford, QB, Georgia This is a given now that he's signed a contract... I don't particularly like this pick, especially for the price paid, but I suppose Detroit had to do it. I think Stafford has good arm strength, mobility, and experience, but I'm not sold on his mechanics or accuracy. I suppose that is something that can be fixed in the NFL though. It is good that he doesn't have as much mileage as some QBs coming out of college as a true junior.

2. St. Louis Jason Smith OT Baylor. Personally I would have taken Smith #1 overall. I think he's by far the best player in the draft and has the potential to be a Tony Boselli, Pace, or Ogden type player. He has very good mobility, excellent strength, and good technique. Reminds me of Joe Thomas but with a bit more strength and athleticism and a little less mobility and skills.

3. Kansas City Aaron Curry, LB, Wake Forest Great pick, excellent defensive player who will make a big impact.

4. Seattle Mark Sanchez, QB, USC. Probably the best QB in the draft, talent wise. I think it was a good decision to come out early, simply because the next draft is QB rich, and you never know about injuries etc. Look what happened to Leinart when he stayed an extra year.

5. Cleveland BJ Raji, DT, Boston College Solid pick, exactly what the Browns need to do, strengthen their defense, and the middle is a good place to start.

6. Cincinnati Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech While a lot of people think that Cincinnati will take a defensive player here, I think Crabtree is the pick. Losing Housh would be a huge loss and they need a replacement. I think they will address defense in later rounds.

7. Oakland Jeremy Maclin, WR, Missouri Speed kills, and Al Davis is going to go with the fastest player available. With Russell under center, this isn't a bad idea but I am not convinced going with a defensive player wouldn't have been a better option.

8. New England (trade with Jacksonville for a second and two third round picks) Eugene Monroe, OT, Virginia The Patriots get help on the O-line, one of their weaker points. Jacksonville needs to address a lot of issues and this trade makes a lot of sense for them.

9. Green Bay Andre Smith, OT, Alabama Potentially more talented than Monroe, but baggage drops him to this spot.

10. San Francisco, Michael Oher, OT, Mississippi Sort of a reach at this spot, but the 49ers really need help on the O-line.

11. Buffalo Tyson Jackson, DE, LSU The most versatile defensive lineman in the draft.

12. Denver Brian Orapko, DE Texas Great value here for Denver, getting a very solid defensive end.

13. Washington Josh Freeman, QB, Kansas State. Freeman is a supremely talented player, but he is raw and won't be able to make an impact for awhile. This is fine with Campbell under center.

14. New Orleans Chris Wells, RB, Ohio State Perfect replacement for Deuce McAllister.

15. Houston Brian Cushing, LB, USC. Very athletic linebacker, will be able to make players all over the field.

16. San Diego Aaron Maybin, DE, Penn State San Diego can afford to take Maybin, who is raw and needs some time to develop.

17. New York Jets Robert Ayers, DE, Tennessee. Not surprised to see Ryan take a defensive player

18. Denver Knowshon Moreno, RB, Georgia McDaniels is not Shanahan and understands the value of a good running back. Lots of potential here.

19. Tampa Bay Malcolm Jenkins, CB, Ohio State Probably the best cornerback in the draft, complete player, will be a great fit in TB.

20. Detroit Clay Matthews, LB, USC One of three USC linebackers to go in the first round

21. Philadelphia Donald Brown, RB, UConn Very fast and powerful. Brown is basically Correll Buckhalter without the knee injuries, and exactly what Philly needs to complement westbrook.

22. Minnesota Brandon Pettigrew, TE, Oklahoma State Perfect fit for the Vikings offense... now if they only had a QB...

23. New England Vontae Davis, CB, Illinois Belichick addresses the Patriots' two biggest needs, CB and OT.

24. Atlanta Rey Maluenga, LB, USC I think he might actually go higher, Atlanta gets a great solid linebacker with this pick.

25. Miami Hakeem Nicks, WR, North Carolina Perfect fit for the Dolphins.

26. Baltimore Kenny Britt, WR, Rutgers Baltimore really needs a WR also, and with Nicks off the board, Britt is the next best receiver.

27. Indianapolis Percy Harvin, WR, Florida The Colts like versatility, and Harvin can line up in the backfield as well as at WR.

28. Buffalo Ebon Britton, OT, Arizona Good fit to replace Peters.

29. Arizona (from NYG) Arizona trades Boldin for the Giants' first rounder, and takes Alphonso Smith, CB, Wake Forest. With DRC on the other side, Arizona is set for the next 5 years at CB.

30. Tennessee Evander Hood, DT, Missouri The Titans get the replacement for Haynesworth at a much lower price

31. Arizona Darrius Heyward Bey, WR, Maryland The replacement for Boldin at a much lower price.

32. Pittsburgh, Max Unger, C, Oregon A perfect pick for the Steelers, who have few needs.

😡 I know his draft stock is high and he has amazing accuracy, but HE IS NOT READY! I hope he does not take one snap in a game next year...still makes dumb decisions

Boo, football.

Hockey is waaaaay better! And I second the "pansies" remark. Disappointing.

Apartment hunting can be so overwhelming! The one I live in right now costs a bit more than I wanted but in the end I just wanted to sign a lease and be done with it. Still, I'm looking forward to getting to do it again if I get off any wait lists. 🙂

Apparently most other people have better things to do other than hanging out on SDN Saturday morning.

But I don't wanna clean! 🙁

I wish my gummi bears would get here today. Alas, UPS does not deliver on weekends so I have to wait till Monday. And what a glorious Monday it will be!

Its ok, I just woke up and I don't plan on doing anything much this morning. But I'll probably go to the library and run a few errands later... then hit the weights. I probably should hit the weights more often.. all I'm doing is maintaining muscle mass.

5 pounds of gummi bears, eh? Your teeth are going to hate you, lol

I think we were using "Swarley." You can ask aznb0y where that came from, because I sure don't know.

It's a How I Met Your Mother reference to the character in his avatar. 😀

I think Swarley is an awesome nickname 😛

Ok, off to bed. Happy 40,000 and 40,001 hunting folks. Remember I got 20001, despite what everyone says!

And I second the "pansies" remark. Disappointing.

I was certain I had missed the 40k party last night, but it remains for the taking! Although I guess it depends if anyone else is even here for a race...

Good morning everybody. I am here at work on a saturday morning. This sure does suck! LOL.
