i would have rec'd the Napa Valley Marathon for 2009...but it already took place. Were you hoping to run before school started?
and what is the qualifying time for Boston (for whatever category you happen to race in)? 35 minutes over huh? That still sounds really impressive!

Male 18-34 requires a qualifying time of 3:10:59... so yeah. Need to shore up the late-stage portion of my runs... those are always shaky, i.e. I always feel like I'm on the verge of cramping so I have to slow down. Based on my time at the 1/2 mark, I could shave off another 20-25 minutes if I could get myself together then.

I prefer running in the fall (I don't like it too hot myself) so I'd run after school starts. I already signed up in the lottery for NYC - that would be rad if I get picked, but I think I have a better chance of getting into Harvard at this point :laugh: The marathons in the 2 cities where I'm choosing between med schools are spring ones, so it's a possibility that I'd run again in the spring of '10.

I second this sentiment.. unless you're washing your sheets tomorrow.. it might not be the best idea to skip the shower

Okay, UGH. I just drank a disgusting casein shake... the optimum nutrition brand. I tell ya, the chocolate flavored casein is disgustingly thick.. I'll drink it anyway. My roommate and I have had this jug of casein powder for the last year and a half.. that's how appetizingly tasty we find it.

Off to bed, can't keep my eyes open any longer..

the only good flavor from ON, caseine wise, is the creamy vanilla. I've tried all 4 for you already, consider me your guinea pig.

(and if you think the chocolate is disgusting, wait till you try the banana one)

I enjoy the ON gold standard... I think it tastes pretty good. Not BSN good, but then again it doesn't have all sorts of unnecessary crap in it.

Put up 175 x 10 on bench today, no pain 😀 stupid rehab...
 
also, more about the casine protein:

Banana Cream: the absolutely worst tasting thing I've eaten in my life. Finished the jug because I'm a poor college student about to be in huge debt, but would not drink again unless I'm famished.

Cookies and Cream: So after LOVING the BSN Syntha-6 cookies and cream, I tried this. A little more manageble than the Banana Crap, but still super bad.

Chocolate Supreme: Tastes like anything but chocolate, but at least it's edible. Better than the Cookies and Cream.

Creamy Vanilla: Actually tastes good.

I went from Vanilla > Chocolate > Cookies > Banana, and THANKFULLY back on Vanilla. It was a hard journey that I have endured, 44 days per jug, 3x44 days of dreading bed time.

ON Whey are all decent tasting, I like the rocky road best. But yea nothing beats BSN Syntha-6 in terms of taste. I'm on my 8th and final jug of syntha-6 cookies and cream. I only drink it for breakfast, 1 scoop per day because of the high cholesterol.
 
I'm only on 135 @ 5x5 right now lol. My lower body is way stronger than my upper body.

well I was repping at 355 before my injury <shrug> I should be up to plates soon though. I can lift a lot more than I am but I want to take it easy, we're only at about 4.7 months post surgery.

Looks like all the rumors out there are false. Nobody got shot in the head, nobody got stabbed in a restaurant, nobody assaulted a police officer.. it was just more of a peaceful post-Rodney King type of gathering.. with high school kids.. perhaps?

BTW Glory, thanks for testing out all the casein powders. I thought chocolate was gross, but now I am definitely not touching banana.. looks like vanilla it is. I do remember that the ON 100% whey vanilla tastes kinda lame though.. chocolate is actually pretty good. Now I drink a scoop of Nitrocore 24 in the morning but I'll check out Syntha-6 when I run out.

:laugh:, my older brothers used to do that with me when I was a baby. They'd hold out a finger for me to bite, but they'd try to pull back before I did.
