small ball is elemental in baseball. If more teams (ie, my team) went back to basics and learned to play better small ball then we might be sitting pretty right now. Home runs are great for selling seats, but not for winning championships. It's not consistent.

Lyss you've basically described why I hate the Yankees! They are not a team; they are a bunch of selfish individuals constantly trying to prove they have the biggest... bat. When the fact is none of them do, steroids have taken care of that (shot below the belt; both literally and figuratively). The present day Yankees are trying to buy a championship by gobbling up everyone that hits at least 30 bombs a year; Fail! They need to stop signing superstars and actually develop a farm system or else this failure is going to continue for the foreseeable future.

I actually like the Patriots but more so because they are a team (see Yankee discussion). Also, they have Randy Moss! Pretty much everyone in Minnesota still has a love affair with Randy Moss, he's the bomb. So good and so fast. Also, we place the complete blame of his departure on Joe Buck, I f-ing hate Joe Buck! He was covering the Viking-Packer game when Moss did his little "mooning" touchdown celebration and Joe Buck made it seem like he murdered an orphan infant in the endzone, leading to Moss's departure. Joe Buck can BIH!

👍 I actually agree. I am a very rare breed of Yankee fan haha. I think it's cause I love the game just as much as I love my Yankees. When I got into baseball the Yankees were at their finest (I think it was the 96 dream team) with Scott Brosius & Tino & Knobby & come from behind wins & stealing bases. I miss those days & that is the standard I hold my team to... I will patiently wait 😀

Well it's nice to hear a Yankee fan that is actually a fan of the game rather than the celebrity circus that the team has become. Knobby was a long time Twins favorite, I pretty sure I still have his rookie card somewhere.

I had to look that one up. I'm more used to DIAF now.

Joe Buck is a pretty bad announcer, I will agree. If you listen to his call of the Endy Chavez catch in 2006 against the Cardinals in the NLCS, it sounds like an average defensive play. Whereas if you listen to Gary Cohen, he sounds like he's about to have a stroke and heart attack simultaneously on-air (and Cohen was right because that catch was RIDICULOUS).

I HATE Joe Buck... I also strongly despise the female announcer for Yankee radio (I think her name is Susan). I'm all about ladies getting into the sport but this chick SUCKS

This is why I watch soccer with commentary in foreign languages.
