Spend your time teaching then, or something fun. A year (or more?) of significant lab work is good enough and your co-workers seem to love you so no worry about the LOR. Have fun because if you really boosted your stats and are applying this cycle there's no reason to spend your last free year in a s**thole work environment. Unless you're shooting for Hopkins...but your call 🙂

It's true. I lacked the volunteering and my mcat wasn't as good as when I took it AFTER I was waitlisted (26 to 35). I just wanted to see if research was my calling and the job was too good to pass up. This year has taught me a lot about research. Being rejected from PhD programs because I said I wanted to work in the pharmaceutical industry👎. I don't understand the appeal of research at this point. The only thing I've enjoyed has been the collaborative effort on distinguishing phospholipidoses from steatosis and another effort to figure out the role of FGFreceptor in calcification (I figured it out👍).

That's some good advice your dishing out Sarah. Congrats of 800 a little while ago; 1K is approaching fast.

Yeah, read my previous response.:meanie: I mean, I don't mind it that much, but this guy interviewed me and everyone else who interviewed me said I would be the person for the job. I'm glad I kept up everything for the timebeing.

Because they want people to commit to research...which doesn't make a lick of sense since almost every person who gets a PhD goes elsewhere to do a post-doc and then who knows where they end up after that.👎 Apparently Pharmaceuticals is the devil in anything science related, even Medicine.

I couldn't believe they said that to me after I was rejected. After the interview. Really?

Game 7 of the Caps-Pens series is going to be real sweet... looking forward to that as well as Game 6 of the Wings-Ducks series being played tonight. Time to go back to the POND and DROWN some lousy ducks!! :meanie:
