Sooo I got my fin aid stuff today. A little grant + federal loans to cover my full COA 🙂 Do students usually accept every dollar they award ?

If you want to live comfortably with plenty of money to spend, then yea. Otherwise calculate your budget and accept however much you need, with some extra for backup just in case.

I wont be accepting all of mine (granted I still cant access it because I lost my password and they are being slow as hell about resetting it)...but they estimate the COA at UNC to be 40K....but with my apt and living habits..I cant possibly see how at the very worst it will cost me over 30-32. Im thinking more around the 27-28 range.

same. I'm going to live on ~ 800 a month. About 500 for rent/utilities and 300 for the rest, I don't have a car so no need for gas/insurance. MCW estimates it at 48k for IS, I should be able to get by with 42K.

Yeah, I am not a big spender....I think I'll just wait and call the fin aid office on Monday. Maybe take it all and give back the leftover at the end of the semester? hahaha

If it's subsidized you might as well take it all and give back, since you won't pay interest right? Just don't gamble the money away.

They gave me the max in subsidized loans, and the rest unsubsidized. So we'll see, I'll talk to them.

And after I lost $$ on my birthday I am mad at gambling. 😡 I will set aside some money to fly in my sdn lovers though.....:laugh:

I think I will probably take every dollar they offer me and give back anything leftover at the end of the year. I think it's harder to get money if you have an emergency in the middle of the year.

So I went to go get my haircut today... The barber told me that I should not get my hair cut that short, because too much of my scalp would be visible...FML.
 
well... there are some shows that are no good even if they are the only show on television. then there are others that are good when nothings on, somewhat good, or really good. my classification scheme at least.
