She's super anti-drinking. Family has history of alcoholism... but there is a difference between the alcoholic and the social drinker that she seems to be unable to grasp (which, to be fair, is understandable considering her experiences with alcohol are almost unilaterally negative). In any case, in general I try to drink only when I'm out of her sight; it saves us both a lot of stress.

Im about to go to Cabo with my parents, just tagging along to their time-share. I think Im gonna have to disappear during the evening time to have any fun.

See, I tried that one night, to just go gamble late at night and mooch off of the free drinks they give you when you're gambling... but I lost my $100 in literally less than 10 minutes on the tables, which was so fast the waitress didn't even have time to come around and offer me a free drink 🙁

Well if they don't flood your living area, and you're not trying to walk to class....TX thunderstorms are AWESOME. I used to open my front door and sit on the doorstep and watch outside at night. In the summer the temperature drops almost 10 degrees so it's cooler 😎

Boooooooo don't talk about tattoos! When I am bored with life I always want to dye my hair or get a tattoo. I would get my name in Assyrian script on my shoulder ....but I am a commitment phobe so the permanency scares me :scared::laugh:

Yikes. That's even worse than Baylor's-orientation starts for us on July 27 and classes don't start for another week after that.

Oh..my..god. This is pure gold. You have any other gems?? This made me laugh really hard. Im definitely adding this to my party playlist :laugh:. We used to have massive techno parties at my house in college and this would have been PERFECT!

Hm, some of it's private. As for the non-private stuff, well on my part it's easy. Any talk of marriage used to cause him to freak out a bit (now we can at least talk about it in general hypothetical terms like "What do you think about pre-nups?"). On his part it was usually the opposite, like him talking about how he has no idea what he wants to do with his life, or for all he knows tomorrow he'll wake up and be someone completely different, which more got a 🙄 reaction from me. This was in the early days though, like the first six months (we're past two years now).

Besides, one of these days we'll think back and say, "Back in med school," "Back when I was just a resident," etc... there will be lots of time for us to feel old later 🙂

Class of 2008 so it's been over for a year for me now. 🙂 I was ready to be done though! :laugh: Couldn't wait to graduate.
 
Speaking of obscure bands, has anyone heard of "Natalie Portman's Shaved Head"? They are hilarious, we saw these guys in Anaheim.

Huh, that is kind of nice. But I think I prefer having the slightly long summer. I think I get two and a half months? I'm going to try going to Turkey again, and then going home to Ghana and maybe seeing if I can do some research or something there, which would be awesome. I didn't go home this summer and I miss it. 🙁 I'll go for Christmas break but that's not a very long time.

It'll be great....the little boy I nannied for had his room in green and yellow and white-his mother wanted his sex to be a surprise. But they mixed in a lot of blues once he was born, and it was nice. Baby pink would've matched just as well. 🙂

And tonight, I will share this with them, hahaha.
I think I find way too much humor in videos like that for a girl :smack: Oh well.

dude...I start well after you (orientation on Aug. 31st...classes on the 8th) and then I finish this time next year (so...by 2nd week of June)

Oh absolutely, long summer is better. But Baylor had to do SOMETHING to manage to fit the preclinical stuff into 1.5 years, so they really have to plow all the way through June to make the pace manageable.

I've gotten them for years. Abreva works the best for me, but if my lips get chapped at all and I don't use the abreva+chapstick/carmex, i'll get a bad one. didn't feel this one coming up and it was awful by morning.
