Happy Monday everyone... although I completely forgot it was monday since it is summer break!

Oh and that bites Sarah... at least you will be in med school, and you will not have to see him that much🙁
 
Time warner is coming to set up internet, cable, and phone on wednesday.. i wont have to rely on the internet in the lab for everything...yay

Haha, I've been on my own since I went to college. Financially I've been paying my way for the past three years yet I still get those nagging "Why don't you call me" phone calls from my mother...they've only been dating for 8 months and he's been married 3 times already and goes by "Doc" even though he's an RN with a completely unrelated degree in Clinical Psychology and runs a nursing agency (which is a different story entirely...and very irritating to me since my mom is more 'academically distinguished' than he is and never likes to gloat about her PhD). I've given up resisting my crazy mother's urge to remarry so I am indeed very happy that I'll be in my own happy little bubble during medical school.

Worst part is, being the ignored but well-accomplished younger middle child I've done well for myself very independent of my parents, yet she can't seem to shut up and stick her nose in everything related to me and medical school. So I don't know how "free" of them I will really be 😡

/end rant. But I will be done working in a month!!!
 
Just as long as you have a good support system (ahem....us 😀) you'll be great Sarah. 🙂
 
Anyone else reading the "I quit" thread? Oh those heady sociopolitical philosophy arguments...which I wasn't such a putz about health policy though

My boss just got me an engraved Littman stethoscope as a going-away present. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside 🙂

I keep waiting for someone to give me something medicine related as a gift... I've gotten nothing since I got in. 🙁

Well, no, that's not true. My bf's father gave me some of his father's and/or grandfather's old medical tools, which are pretty awesome and outdated. 😎 I need to figure out a neat way to display them when I move.

The first half hour or so is cute. And then it stops being a fun children's movie and turns into "Global Warming! Oh no!" Or something like that. I didn't appreciate the switch.

They really are.

Pre-doctor decision, I was debating doing the Computer Science track offered in the Psychology major. My Intro to Programming class was actually one of my favorite classes that I took in college.

I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through my bf. 😎 Though I'm glad I'm not him right now. He was supposed to do a Microsoft internship this summer but his OPT card hasn't arrived yet, and if it doesn't by Wednesday, he won't have enough weeks left of the summer (he needs a minimum of 10) to still do it. 🙁
 
I have a lightweight green littman and a CIII double head. Babies and PICU pts normally get their own... but I'm sure i'll buy a neoscope before all is said and done... they are so cute and tiny!
 
So, my doc wasn't gonna be available any earlier... so I'm taking my paperwork home next weekend and meeting up with my shadowing doc to get him to do my physical. House calls, anyone? :laugh:
