It has been good. Just getting ready for our our exam on monday. Didnt go to class today, well, I dont really go to class ever. So I got up and made breakfast and got to work studying. Just another day on the game field!

Yesterday I went to my first interest group meeting and it was our Orthopaedic Surgery Interest Society. It was actually pretty good. I think I might have an actual interest in Ortho for Sports Medicine. We shall see. The one thing I do know is that Sports Medicine is where I want to be. Now I have 4 yrs to figure out which path to take to get there.

I'm still not 100% sure about what field I want to go into. I'm hoping it will come to me eventually. I'm gonna join a few interest groups and see if anything tickles me. I really like sports medicine... more so for the opportunity to give athletes rigorous physical exams 😀😀😀


if only I could be Derek Jeter's physician....

Interviewing wasnt bad..just get your hosts to take you out and get you drunk.

No its not...90% of the ppl you meet are putting on a huge act, and the ones that dont dont get in anyways.

I only had fun when i wasnt around administration, when i was traveling, or when i was partying with the hosts!

I don't think that's necessarily true... I totally played with the stupid big train at Texas Children's Hospital at Baylor cuz I'm actually just a little kid in a big kid's body, but I didn't get rejected because I was too immature 😀 So you can get in without putting on a huge act (at least not in front of the other applicants... obviously, everyone tries to spin things a little bit in the actual interviews). But honestly, I agree with kissme, the figuring out how I was going to stay on top of my work was way, way more stressful than the interview day.

Same here... they were begging for male hosts at Baylor

BTW, I signed up to be a student host for a day that I won't be in town. Oops... hope they didn't contact that guy yet!

ADCOM members don't do interviews here. So from my understanding there's some sort of mysterious council meetings that determine interviewees fate based on interviewer ratings, grades, LORs ect. So there's mad competetion for the couple of student spots on the council.

I imagine the meetings look like this:

Ain't no thang but a chicken wang! We can do this...out there in Chocolate City or out here on the beach!

Everyone in our facebook group can be witness...and Lyss will be the prize...all wrapped up in a gift box waiting to be opened by the winner...AKA ME!

this little debate is fun to read after hearing a lecturer go through 14 slides in a matter of 3 hours spent over 2 days. He talked so slow and was so monotone that when you speed his lectures up to 2x the speed, he sounds normal.
