I hate it when people (my classmates/ "friends") sit around and dissect the hell out of an exam that we just took until the grades are released. It is always stressful and depressing. I physically separated myself from them today and it was quite liberating/relaxing. Actually kind of a pleasant fall morning 🙂.

I'll be thinking of most if not all of you while we are busting our butts this weekend. Keep chugging everyone!

You've never met anyone that spends the time after the test scrutinizing every question/answer?

it usually goes something like this: "Oh, number 3 asked what transports the acyl chain during fatty acid synthesis. I put the condensing subunit... but in E. coli A ACP does it! and now that I think about it ACP carries the activating Manoyl group in humans! was it A, was it B, i changed my anwswer from C, did I mess up... aaaaaaaghhhhh:boom:."
and then they move on to the next question and do it all over again.

But yay, I am 2/3 done with biochem! Too bad we won't get our grades till monday😡
 
today was really really long:

class from 9-4pm today...then I stayed for a review session till after 6pm

- reviewed notes with a classmate...and now I am trying to find canjones to head back to campus so I can study more....

gawddddddd....I feel like I've been castrated....:laugh::laugh::laugh:

BTW: jgberk is awesome...young...but awesome

Tell me about it. I've been here since 10 PM. It's a weird feeling being the only one here at 6 in the morning...

I am taking a relatively light day of glancing over Grants. I need a break since I just had a test...

In other news I made granola! It was supposed to be granola bars but I did not make enough syrup/ added too much stuff so it is half bar like and half crumbly...

Lucky. Our library closes at 12 and opens at 7 during the weekdays...There are many times I have come before 7 to the library only to :smack: facepalm myself for coming too late to study in the carrels and too early for the library to be open...

I think ours is open 24/7 on all test weeks. I usually just use it for free printing though.

How many pages do you guys get? We got 100 free pages and that was it... but I cannot complain seeing as I pay about 1/3 to 1/4 of what other med students at other universities pay...

Unlimited:soexcited:. Our note packets usually include powerpoints for the lectures though, so no one really goes crazy on the library printers.

Our library closes at midnight but our carrels are open 24/7.

We get a big packet of notes at the beginning of each block, but we have to pay 10 cents per each additional page printed.

we get handouts in class and they are available online...

we received a libary card with $25 on it but that's it
 
I must have a nack for picking schools with free printing:shrug:. Certain peripherial computer labs had free printing at my undergrad for my first three years (they stopped after my junior year). I probably got $100+ worth of free printing during undergrad.

I'm being more "professional" in med school though, and not printing my business and tax related documents on the school's dime.
 
Alright, sleep is getting one more shot (and I hope it works, I can't sleep all day tommorow). If it doesn't work I stay up for the rest of the night reading about lipids.

I had a lovely study-free saturday 🙂

Now, back at it. No tests til next Monday, but we're adding our last new class (physiology) until after christmas come tomorrow... as if 6 wasn't enough. ah!

Yeah. Just getting thru. Making it happen. Have an exam on tuesday and then another one next monday. Good luck on your anatomy exam!
 
They are powering through david bowie today at starbucks. I'm enjoying it, but I can't imagine every other customer is :meanie:
