Man, I can't wait for lunch. Homemade soup featuring a wide array of vegetables. I like the holidays bc my parents cook me so much food!

Lunch?! What lunch?

Tis' breakfast time, matey.

i either pinched a nerve or pulled a muscle in my neck/shoulder. it REALLY hurts to take deep breaths. jeez.

mmkay yeah well hopefully you didn't crack a rib and puncture your lung there. maybe its pleuritic. you'd probably know if you had a cold though.

or does your neck hurt when you breathe....I interpreted it as your lung.

Brooklyn - Im gonna have to agree about the new Snoop song. I noticed you mentioned it....and then I heard it. Im a huge fan of his old stuff, but not much of his new stuff gets me. This is song is hot though....the ballad is just sick (Gansta Luv?). Good Ear. And thanks for the heads up on that Passion Pit song. Loved that too. 👍👍

hey....have any of you ever felt compelled to report someone that cheated?

that was probably Jolt. Getting your hiphop heads confused, I see. We all look alike huhhhhhh? 😳

nope. I have never really witnessed it though...I generally try to stay out of other peoples business🙂.

same. i probably wouldn't believe that someone cheated. i never really look up from my exam though. too self absorbed

That's like brunch.

Get well, little one.

haha thanks.

it's my neck that hurts. way to look for zebras, though.

saving gnomes is a tough job

seriously.

ugh people were cheating during my pchem exam yesterday...pretty blatantly. I am not sure how much their cheating actually helped them but I am just offended that someone would think it is ok to do that.

Blatant? And proctors didn't notice that? How does that happen?

I'm usually pretty good at ignoring other people, but once I did have to step in. Luckily I knew the prof really well. For one of my biochem finals the time/space was limited so our exam was in the same auditorium at the same time as a gen chem exam (same prof). I ended up sitting next to some gen chem kid, a youngin, and it was the most obvious cheating i've ever seen. he had his textbook open on the floor by his feet, along with his notebook and some single pages of notes, formulas, etc... and he was leafing through them the entire time. uuuuugh. so obnoxious. 👎

well what they were doing is going to the bathroom repeatedly (which is weird in itself because we aren't supposed to be able to do that but I guess our prof was being nice since the finals are 2.5 hour long) and I only noticed because that one specific kid was sitting in front of me and kept slamming the door. Another witness (who was finished at this point) heard several of these people looking and talking about the book in the bathroom and then going back into the room.
Our prof was the proctor and a lot of people had questions for him...I think he was distracted.

That final couldn't have gone any worse. :annoyed:

There goes my A/A- borderline average for the class.

yea i love how he shoots his brother in law by accident and the guy doesn't even go to the hospital. he just wipes the blood off with a towel and keeps going

i need some new music, too. suggestions?

Good stuff from 2009 that I dig-

Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix. Amazingly catchy indie rock. I listened to "Lisztomania" and "1901" like 20 times each when I first heard it.
The Antlers - Hospice. Really moody/dark amazing music, 10/10 from me. One of my favorite albums of all time now.
A Place to Bury Strangers - Exploding Head. Caustic post-shoegaze/noise-rock goodness.
Cold Cave - Love Comes Close. Fuzzy electronic goodness. Check out "Life Magazine"
Cymbals Eat Guitars - Why There Are Mountains. Built to Spill-era indie throwback, complete with freaking epic, loud, intensity
Pomegranates - Everybody Come Outside. Blissful surf jam/jangly indie pop stuff that makes me feel super happy inside

Stuff from 2008 that might have been overlooked-

The Walkmen - You & Me. Classy as **** indie rock. Sounds like Arcade Fire in a jazz club
Why? - Alopecia. Hip-hop indie rock with lots of experimentally awesome grooves
Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes. Who hasn't heard this already? Brilliantly breezy and harmonic summertime folk (perfect for winter)
Deerhunter - Microcastle. The cutting edge of indie rock, makes you feel very weird inside because it's so gender-bending. But still awesome.

the snoop album is craazzzy. Listen to "Different Languages ft. Jazmine Sullivan"..my fav track at the moment off the album

this juelz track is catchy too

and that "Drop the World" is ok...if it wasn't for Em, it would be whatever. Another track that belongs in the "You just got murdered on your own track" courtesy of Eminem. Stick it right up there with "Renegade".

More good new crap-

Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavillion. The first AC album I've truly loved; comes complete with genius electronic vibes and tribal shout-out genius
Grizzly Bear - Veckatimest. Amazingly likeable chamber folk/americana/psych folk stuff. Pretty as hell harmonies
David Bazan - Curse Your Branches. Ex-Pedro the Lion mastermind makes first true solo album; amazingly creative effort that sounds far more lush than a solo singer-songwriter should sound

yea i cant wait for relapse 2. mariah has em going. love the hook on that new song though

GL. Did you like that school a lot? One of my buddies interviewed there last year and liked it a lot.

Yeah, I did like it a lot and Richmond. I'd have to go back to re-check it out since I spent almost no time there.

i think i'll do a trapped in the closet tribute

I need to watch that DVD, it's in my house somewhere. I just remember the midget part.

you guys need to stop listening to that corporate music

Are you one of those people that thinks you're hot **** because you listen to music no one else has heard of?
yea man, there is a reason why most of that underground music stays underground. stuff is garbage 90% of the time

as a DJ, i cant waste my time with it either. people wanna hear someone they know...but there are some artists i go searching for. i.e. J. Cole (been on him for about a year), Charles Hamilton, Matt & Kim, old Drake (new stuff is blah)

although I will say going back to an artist's first album before they blew up is sometimes interesting. Eminem's Infinite and 50 Cent's Power of the Dollar, for example. great stuff

Are you one of those people that thinks you're hot **** because you listen to music no one else has heard of?

I used to be one of these but I didn't have the time for that anymore. Sometimes you catch some gems though, but I wouldn't know now. I wish I had more time for music, regret not being involved in it and instead turning into a science square.

another track that is pure ridiculousness. Last Train to Paris is looking to be incedible

Look, I'm not really a fan of mainstream music but I don't denounce it. The only thing consistent with my musical taste is that I hate rap. That is all.

I prefer not to listen to the radio. Which reminds me, I just ran out of room in my 198 CD holder for my car, and it broke because it was too heavy.

i play hip-hop in my lab. my lab has gotten used to it, but i think other labs think we're crazy. it's like a constant party

Are you one of those people that thinks you're hot **** because you listen to music no one else has heard of?

 well....I would say that yes, I think I'm hot **** because of my taste in music but TONS of people listen to the music I like. I like music that has more than just superficial qualities. a lot of pop music these days is very superficial (though not all of it, of course). if you want art, you gotta go with the bands and musicians that are truly advancing creativity in music.

this isn't just resigned to rock. there are some amazing indie hip-hop labels that pump out some incredible innovators of electronic music and hip-hop. Anticon is one that comes to mind. and if you like "party music" there are some amazing things going on electronic/dance music these days.

yea man, there is a reason why most of that underground music stays underground. stuff is garbage 90% of the time

you must not have heard the good stuff! I agree that tons of underground stuff blows, but there is amazing music outside of what the radio and MTV play. if you look back at experimental/underground trends in history you can find this beautiful mess of genius. once I got started, I got hooked. I got like 23,000 songs in my iTunes library

music is my religion and I am an evangelical

music of all forms is wonderful, but unfortunately pop music these days usually has just taken something that was done better by lesser-known artists and made it very digestible. for example, Weezer is a dumbed-down version of Pavement. Weezer is noted by some as "Pavement with training wheels". if you heard any Pavement you'd probably think it was Weezer and that just goes to show how sad the music industry is. (Pavement was a truly innovative band that Weezer totally ripped off)

I don't mean to offend everyone, but as I said, music is my religion

This is very true.

One tangent of this that I find extremely annoying and disturbing in music is that now a lot of popular songs are just re-made versions of older songs that either nobody knew or they just wanted to rework.

Grow some creativity, people and stop using other artists' songs.

23,000 is nothing nowadays 😛

i cleared 50k a couple years ago.

good to see you're into different types though. i don't like everything. i just stick to 3/4 genres and focus really hard on those
