I just woke up. doin the wake n bake thing. waiting on one of my bros to bring me a avocado vege burger and my other brother to drop off some XMass presents. Just took my giant snails out of their calcium bath and put them back in the big tank (72G bowfront). Working on my other tank (46G bowfront) that is cycling for saltwater. life's alright tonight.

schools never really tell you why they rejected you (although I just found out I can call pritzker in april and ask that question exactly... sweet), and I would hate to have the thought lingering in my head that a can of beer or a joint in some picture could have had an effect.

I asked UVA why they rejected me and they responded.

and then there's schools that tell you you can ask then give you a bs answer...ahem vcu haha. they told me i didn't have enough clinical experience which i def dont think is my weakness. i guess it would be a little akward to tell me my interviewer just didnt like me which i think was the real reason for the rejection😛

That was my reason for UVA, but moreso for how I didn't show that my experience was meaningful in the interview. I totally understand where they were coming from.... except for the fact that neither of my interviewers addressed that.

so you know how i thought i didn't get any of those background check emails? it turns out my school must have strengthened it's junk mail catcher or something, because it never used to catch anything important but it turns out it caught all of them😱 I'm glad i randomly decided to check my junk mail and caught it! did any of you get too many emails about it? i got 2, but one of the 2 schools i'm accepted at doesn't participate in the cbc so i'm wondering if it could be a good thing but don't want to get my hopes up. i wish they told you what school asked for it!!

sounds like the interviewers may not have been totally candid to the ADCOMs. ie maybe they were asked how you defended yourself, and instead of admitting that they forgot to ask, they gave some BS.

Yeah, but since you didn't interview at those places it might not help you figure out more subtle weaknesses that show up while interviewing.

I just found out I can have 2 or 3 days this next week and still make good money!!!

Well, when I first got a credit card in 6th grade, my mom filled out all the paper work and because of her illegible handwritting, my card read K*** M. S*** as opposed to K*** H. S*** like it's supposed to. Well, my background check noticed this and ran searches on a K*** M. S*** too. Nothing bad came up, but I don't want it to look like I lied about my name or anything. Sigh.

i am back from the world's shortest job interview . . . 🙁 i am super paranoid that the manager might have googled my name. and the first thing that pops up when i google my name is a photo of me on my graduate program's webpage. F@%&! he said he would call me 'within 24 hours' if he wanted to offer me a position . . . it seems like if he wanted to offer me a position he would have done it. crap!!

Haha well, it's a joint card with my brother and parents, and it's still the only one I have. I got it because I was going to Europe on a school trip and my parents didn't want me to carry a lot of cash. Most of the stores were very confused when I used it though, "Sweetie, I need your mommy or daddy to sign the receipt for this." "But it's mine." "It's what?" "It's my credit card." "Oh, um, do you have any ID?"
