man i wish i could see daft punk again. i saw them while my jaw was wired, but it was still top 3 shows i've ever been to.

You went?! I saw them in Toronto (Aug '07) and I had mono and a 104 temperature. Well worth it!

Insane.

i wonder how expensive it would be to do that (or at least a simpler version) for halloween?

my next project:

solder-yourself kits are like 40 for a single one. up to three per wheel for lower speed persistence of vison.

I've always wanted to be them but it seems so difficult. I've seen some pretty good ones online, though.

Off to TRY and sleep... 😴

What's up, people, can't wait for the playoff games. Yum!

Hmmm... do I go out with friends tonight, or stay home alone watching the Cowboys?

Friends. Just watch the Bengals-Jets and the rest of the playoffs tomorrow. Who cares about Dallas Cowboys, I hate them.

I already can't watch Bungles-Jets, and it's MY Cowboys 😀

It's the one game I actually care about, vs. trying to be sociable in med school 😛

My Astros have been way too quiet this winter. I hate how baseball free agency is basically "everybody hurry up and wait for the Yankees, Red Sox, Mets, Dodgers, Cubs, and Angels to spend their money, THEN everybody else can try and pick over the bargain basement clearance racks." 😡

My parents are buying me a Macbook Pro, the $1500 one for med school sometime in the future. 👍

What computers are you guys buying for school?

I am finally giving up and getting the 15 inch Mac Pro. Great battery life, no malware FTW.

current desktop plus a netbook or the mac tablet right before school starts

I'm getting the 13-inch 2.53 Ghz one. The 15-inch is too large for me, I want to carry it to classes and library and stuff.

doing it as we speak! 🙂

i figured that was cheaper than buying some rip-off salicylic acid stuff at duane reade. here's hoping it works :xf:

I had one of those a few years ago. Got it lasered off by a podiatrist. 👍

Yeah, the drugs are pretty cool.

When I had mine pulled, I ate only chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk and easy mac for 2 weeks. No swelling, but the non-varying diet was annoying.

😱

I only had to eat like that for 2 days. Maybe mine weren't as bad.

Geez, Pete Carroll going to Seattle.

😱

Probably either this or this.

too lazy to multiquote, so:

spursy, friends >>> cowboys.

i had my wisdom teeth out a week before i started 2nd semester soph year of college. all 4 of mine were impacted so i was under general anesthesia. the surgeon said i'd be fine by the time i went back to school, but that was soooo not true... i looked like a chipmunk, couldn't eat anything other than pureed vegetables and pudding, and my dissolvable stitches had yet to dissolve. that was a rough start to the semester

and this wart shiz is so gross. i mean, it's tiny and not actually gross at all, but i hate the idea of it. i'm hoping the cider vinegar does its job.

oh, and i'm getting a(nother) macbook. can't decide if i want the pro or not. my 'book is 4 years old, so this generation has way more memory and way better processors than my current one to begin with, and i've been really happy with this computer. so why shell out extra money for more gigs and whatnot when i haven't needed them in the past? meh.

I'm home. Yay!

Cool. How long were you gone? Like 1.5 weeks?

I find it ironic that the person buying an Apple product asks this question.

And now, a friendly reminder!

Check your school's computer policy before spending any large chunk of cash.🙂

Oh, and for the record:

This weekend: NYJ, NE, Philly, GBP. Next week: Colts over Jets, Chargers over Pats, Eagles over Saint, Vikings over GB. Then: Colts over Chargers, Eagles over Vikings. Superbowl: Eagles over Colts 34-31.

Copied from my facebook status.

Does your school have one, Myuu?

It does. They offer something like 3 models of Dell and 2 of MacBook Pro currently, with roughly equivalent stats and then say that you have to buy one of them.

As it turns out, they can be talked out of it, but bulk purchase discounts are pretty nice.

ha. i had nothing but difficulty with the PCs i had in the past. plus i just like the OSX user interface better, and the apple customer service makes the extra money worth it

haha good point. i'm not going to buy a computer until like july anyway.

I don't get why they would require you to buy a specific brand.

I had the worst wisdom teeth experience. All of mine were impacted (and one wasn't even formed like a tooth.. it was a "blob of tooth material" that had to be ground out :lame:) and all I got was some Novocaine injections. My uncle did it and he can't knock people out (only laughing gas/shots). I felt EVERYTHING on one side for some reason... blood was all over my shirt when I left

I ended up getting double dry sockets on the bottom and had to come back everyday so he could reopen the wound and shove a smelly clove pad into the holes... that ruined the taste of everything I ate for like a month. When I went back to get the 2 top teeth out... one of those even resulted in a dry socket which is really rare on the upper teeth. I even edited wikipedia (huge nerd?) to say it could happen with the upper wisdom teeth because the article said it only occurs on the lower teeth. Major FAIL

Yikes. I probably would have said, "Sorry Uncle."

Contractual agreement, most likely. I think the IT guys are dell-trained techs, so they can pretty much handle all of that stuff on-site. They claim to be Mac-trained as well, but that is BS as not only are they hostile to Macs and their users, their solution to everything is to reimage the drive.😡

oof. that is pretty terrible. i must say, other than the ridiculous amount of time it took me to recover, my surgery went really well. that's the great thing about being from boston where there are a bajillion doctors-- i found someone who was board certified in both oral surgery and anesthesiology 👍

I'd still get an Asus, most likely. What do they do if you won't buy whatever they suggest? I guess it doesn't really matter for me, but I'm just curious.

I think I waited so long to get my wisdom teeth out that it was a pretty easy procedure. I guess the downside to that is that they say the nerves have longer to grow and become entangled with nerves in your jaw.

We have them around here also... but all of my cousins and siblings have just gone to my uncle (maybe because our parents are cheap?) ... We all have horror stories.
