Oh cmon. No matter how much you might hate the BCS (and Lord knows I do), it's pretty hard IMO to claim that Boise St. was really better than either of these two teams (assuming McCoy was playing). If anything, you could have argued that Texas was the team that didn't deserve to be there after they almost lost to Nebraska, but they clearly showed they deserved to be there on the first possessions for both teams and in the talent and heart they showed to almost come back. Maybe if TCU had won there might have been some real controversy. And regardless, even if you thought it was meaningless, it was just a good, dramatic game to watch. Also, for all of its imperfections, the BCS is still a heck of a lot better way to crown a national champion than the old system.

With Welker, Pats could have gone to the Super Bowl. Without him, I think they will lose in the divisional rounds. But I think they will beat the Ravens. I'm so sad about Welker though.

I finally got my Welker jersey for Christmas, just in time for him to be out for the rest of the season 🙁 Suckage. I think they still have a chance, but it will be MUCH harder.

Also, about Cowboys-Eagles: again, I agree with you guys. I like Philly in this game. I'm just pointing out, the entire NFC is a toss-up; there are reasons to believe in and against all 6 teams over there.

why would it be bad to be on someone's CV? it's not like you can never work in a restaurant (wait, was that you, or did you have a different interview?) if you've done research before... as long as you're interested in the job and would do a good job, and they don't think you're leaving asap, then you should be fine!

basically because if i apply for serving jobs, i don't put down that i was in grad school on the app. they won't want to hire me because they will think i am looking for a 'real' job on the side and will leave at a moment's notice. which is a fair and realistic concern on their part.

now, if i only admit that i went to undergrad for art, they should have no problem believing i am unemployed now 🙄 unemployed former artists= great servers. people with advanced degrees= probably not good long term employees. it's not about how well i do the job, its about the amount of work involved in training someone who they suspect is just going to leave.

i've spent the whole morning adding my real name to all my art related websites. if i can get off my grad school website, all the other stuff should pop up instead and push the CV to the second page. thats not as big a deal because there's no proof it's me. the problem with the grad school site is it has a big dumb picture of my face on it.

in other news, i might get a job with EK's mcat prep course 🙂👍 i emailed and told them how much i loved them and reccomend their books to everyone, and i have an audition on mon. the bad news is, its only gonna be 8-12 hours a week tops, so i still need to find something else.

Last year was Ellen DeGeneres and I was really jealous of that class... Hahah. Some years before we had Clinton and H. W. Bush. Though they're cool, obviously, I'm more excited about Anderson Cooper.

No idea on how they chose though. I'm sure they try to contact someone relevant and/or interesting. Ellen is from NOLA and Anderson has a strong connection with the city. Clinton and Bush Sr. have obvious reasons.

Carroll did not return messages, but a league source said Carroll is interested in the job and is trying to persuade Trojans offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates to join him in Seattle, as opposed to Bates pursuing the same position with the Chicago Bears.

Said another source close to Carroll: "You're about to see a big headline that shakes up the major college football word," in reference to the Seahawks' development. The Seahawks did not confirm Carroll as a leading candidate but also did not deny it.
