try working at Best Buy. you get wholesale prices on everything. did you know Ron Artest started working at a Best Buy after getting drafted by the Bulls because his family wanted him to buy them electronics and he figured he might as well save money

plus u can just watch TV
 
Two of my friends work at a RadioShack kiosk in Sam's and would just close the kiosk when the Saints game was on. They would go and gather with the other people watching the game in Sam's.

Since I've been accepted, I've been rejected by Best Buy, Sam's, various hospitals and after hours clinics, and banks. 👎

guess its no better in LA than CA. How are you approcahing questions about future plans? I really dont want to lie but i mean wtf else can you do? If you tell the truth no one in their right mind will hire you as you are going to leave in 6 months. My 1st two interviews i tried to skate around the question but in the end they said they wanted someone who wasnt going to med school basically. In my last interview i just flat out lied and made a bunch of BS up..but I felt so bad about it I ended up just saying I didnt want the job at the end...

If i dont get a real paying job soon im going to be 8k in credit card debt before med school. That or my son can just stop eating w/e comes 1st...:scared:

If I did get an interview, I wouldn't mention it unless asked - then it would be situational. For clinical/medical type jobs, it would be great to say I've been accepted to med school, but then they probably wouldn't want to invest time in me.

I think I've given up on a non-campus job for the spring.

I did email a tutoring place that had an ad in our paper. Hope that works out.

What do yall think about potentially taking out a small loan this summer to do some travelling (if I get no money by graduation to do any)?

This could be one of my last summers for a while to travel, and I would like to make one road trip and one tropical trip (Belize, most likely).
 
you mean putting the trip on a credit card? those interest rates are pretty crazy man, i would suggest against it but i have a pretty big undergrad debt

No, I mean like a private loan or something. I don't know much about money, though.

I wouldn't do a credit card (even though I think my interest rate is relatively low for some unknown reason).

Personally, I'd do it, but I think I'm unusually lassaize-faire about debt. Time is the one commodity in life that can't be recouped.

I wouldn't spend money that I didn't have, unless it's for schooling. That goes for weddings too.

This is what I'm leaning towards. I'll have no undergrad debt and I already know I won't have anything left from savings for med school no matter what, so it's not like I'm pulling money used for something else. It would just be a little more on top of med school.

Hopefully my rich aunt helps. :xf:

Belize is where my mom's family is from. I went when I was 9 months old, so I don't remember anything. It would be nice to go and see where my family lived for a long time.

But I'm open to almost anywhere tropical around the world if it's cheaper. As long as I get to leave the continental US.

Between end of June and end of August probably tops out around 100, but the humidity makes it feel like 110-115. We had that for 2 weeks a couple of summers ago.

I guess it averages in the low 90s around that time, but you sweat the instant you walk outside - even at 8am.

Mardi Gras can be anywhere from the first week of February to mid/late March, so it varies.

Usually it's pretty cold in the morning but warms up nicely in the middle of the day then gets chilly again at night. You NEED sunscreen, or you'll get burnt bad. It tends to lean more toward cool/cold than warm.

Well more like 1/4 between sdn, looking up random music and writing on people's walls.

Btw, I didn't have fbook until I joined our fb group. Now I'm on there more than here lol.

I hate winter. Assuming that most of the time "summer"=highs in the 80s-90s, I can live with that 🙂
