it will be interesting to see how they do. i agree amare is overrated, but i like his contract situation (which is why i wanted sixers to trade iggy + dalembert for him).

i think its risky, but obv the cavs had to do something. knicks gave up a lot of caps space too

When Gilbert Arenas returns to the NBA, Wizards general manager Ernie Grunfeld wants it to be with the team. "He's under contract and he's going to be with us," Grunfeld said. "He's part of the organization. If he wants to play, he's going to play here."
 
Shaq and Z are gone after this year (presuming Z returns to the cavs). They will make a run at Chris Bosh.
 
I dont think you resign shaq unless you can get him for a decent amount, maybe the midlvl exception or so? Idk what hes making now but i just cant see shaq lasting much more then this season. Hell this season is somewhat surprised me. I think the whole capspace thing is overrated. Lets say the knicks get 2 decent plays (johnson and wade) They are still probably nothing more then a one and done team, not contenders for sure. Teams like the knicks have far more problems then just 1 superstar. They are like 2 superstars and 10 role players away from challenging anyone.

If they get bosh that would be sick. Capwise is that even possible though? Man cavs with bosh, lebron, williams, JJ, jamison, etc...on paper thats insane.

This comes as a huge surprise to me... so I guess they couldn't find a loophole to void his contract?

After they peaced the big 3 + Haywood I was guessing they would start from scratch.

idk, i think capspace is big to me

allan houston used to be my favorite player, they went to the title with that no good piece of ****, lost it, thought it was exciting cuz he made one runner against the heat, and then crippled the organization by signing him for 8 years, blamed it on isiah. they almost signed him again, after they finished paying him 2 years ago. i love the 98 playoffs and he's a cool dude, but that did the knicks in.

sixers were contending to be "favorites" when they signed elton. now they won't do anything for 7 more years. they even tried to get rid of iguodala (who has a huge contract) and dalembert (who has a huge contract) to free up space w/ amare.

it just cripples the organization when ticket sales aren't high. w/ or w/o lebron, knicks will sell out for years and they will go over the cap (assuming there's no hard one). cleveland, w/o lebron, will have to stay under - which is something i think they should consider

yep... that's what we are looking at. If we win the ship and lebron stays, it wouldn't be too hard to lure a free agent after we clear the cap space from Z and Shaq. Also Wally Szczerbiak is still being paid by the cavs right now too and they are bout to waive his rights I think. There is definitely the room for another superstar.
 
if the knicks don't get lebron, they won't sign 2 players btw. they will wait for melo/durant and maybe sign 1 this year

there's a kid in my lab thats from ny and is a huge knicks fan too, this is all we talk about.


if you had a choice between not having nfl next year or nba next year, which one would u take?

Haha, and his contract is ridiculous. He was once rated in espn the mag as the worst defender in the nba.

But he's a great offensive player.... but yea, ultimately failure. Another worthless cast member of the Lebron show - why Cle doesn't have a championship already.

dont you think they will be pressured into signing 2 people even if they are not say max deal talent. Say like joe johnson and someone else? Idk really i think the knicks just screwed up big time. Ideally if they got say wade and bosh well i guess ok it was possibly worth it (though i dont think so). They have mortaged the past few seasons and their future on the chance at 2 big deals. Not to mention jordan hill ahhah whoever the hell oked that pick should be fired.
 
we are really banking on lebron or dwyane. lol, if not, well i think a lot of people will jump ship to be honest.

if they **** up, then its over to be honest. i dont want carlos boozer
 
luckily, i think i'm going to miami, so they have room to sign 2, so hopefully i get to see good bball (and they will keep/trade beasely). it seems like they are going after wade and boozer primarily (or amare).

if that doesn't work out, i'm gonna start watching soccer or some****
 
you are right though, we really waited for a while and then they drafted jordan hill when they could have tried for b jennings (who is kinda going downhill, and hill has been playing better recently)
 
and the sixers play terrible basketball. i have given away 12-14 tickets this year cuz its just ridiculous to go those games just to boo dalembert (its tough too, after he donated to haiti)

college bball isn't too big over here, at least not until march
