The one time I used my oven was to cook lasagna and then cookies for a group of friends I had over for dinner. And that was the end of my oven-cooking.

Speaking of cookies, I ordered a bunch of girlscout cookies and I should be receiving them next week.🙂 All chocolate peanut butter ones.

I use mine for frozen pizzas and occasionally cinnamon rolls. Sometimes I might make some ribs in there, but very very very rarely.

Toaster oven for everything else that needs baking. Toaster oven FTW!

Ah yes, I love my toaster oven. I use that and my microwave ALL the time.

I think my family ordered a bunch of Samoas...mmmm....

haha you guys and your lack of oven usage is funny. i mean i didn't use it all the time in college, but probably at least ~1x/week. one of my roommates junior year asked me and my other roomies in febuary how to turn the oven on though(we moved in in august!😛). she was probably the worst cook in history-she couldn't even do those frozen bags you put on the stove. she'd go upstairs and forget about it then it would burn and smoke and make a huge mess!

metallica, I got pics and juicy info on the guitar I might buy. Do you mind taking a look at it?

Well I guess it wasn't that tragic. It just wouldn't turn on. It kind of went into a coma and never woke up.

Wow, you have that effect on electronics, don't ya? First, your toaster oven, and then, your TV?

someone entertain

read the last couple pages of the jhu school thread, its entertaining. med student vs couple of premeds.

my vote is for apples to apples and monopoly. my friend and i would have marathon monopoly games, i mean like days during the summer break. we would leave the board but take our $$ to ensure no shaningans happened overnight.

Marathon monopoly? That sounds like fun!

I've advanced a bit in my breakfast abilities the past week. I just need to figure out how to make an omelet without leaving half of the thing raw.

flip it after cooking on the one side before folding. cook the other for a little bit, then put your fillings in and fold over. i cook each folded side for a little bit more just to make sure there aren't any runny parts and melt all my chhheeeeseeee.

it was intense, we would need to take breaks to chase down the ice cream truck. instead of "hotels" we built playgrounds. now there is a disney version and i totally want it for my future kids, nephews/nieces...(ok ok or for myself, but shhhhhh).

i can't live w/o my oven. for dinners, quiches for breakfast, cookies and cakes. only prob is that it racks up the gas bill.

Was this more than one game? Just one game of monopoly is a marathon in itself!

Sure, go ahead.

I hope not. Hmmm.... But my TV is fixed now.

Thanks. 👍

it was one really long game. but we would make up some rules as we went in order to keep the game going. for example, i would claim the number 5 so if you rolled the dice for a combined 5, you gave me $50. or we would play with 2 pieces each (doubling the starting $ of course). i could never decide between the iron or shoe so i figured, heck, lets each have two. you could decide which one to move on each roll. if you rolled the same #, you could split the die and have each piece move that amount (sort of like splitting in black jack). ridiculous stuff that only prolonged the agony.

This sounds way too complicated for me. I just stick to cards, Taboo, or Cranium.

admittedly, yes. these were my younger days...sigh. after all the silly rules, i found it hard to play with other ppl by the real rules.

cranium is awesome! especially if you have a partner who can read your mind.

a game i never liked is risk. i'm just not a conquerer. i'm of a lover. not to mention i wouldn't pay enough attention and never had a strategy.

In lieu of our bacon conversation a few weeks ago, I have something special to share with you all...

EDIT: I can't get the image to attach... Hmmm...

You know, despite my initial hesitation, I think I would try it too lol.

it could work out flavor-wise. the salty bacon with the sweet chocolate and cake. i've also seen a bacon maple donut.

Best kind!!

ohhhh i forgot taboo. that game is awesome

Love it!!!

Speaking of Taboo (which is the game that represents my freshman year of college and all my new and old friends made that year since we played it so much), all my friends are getting jobs and moving away.

My best friend from high school got a job offer yesterday and moved today. I didn't even get to say goodbye. One of my best friends/roommates during college moves next week to SC. I hate this growing up thing.

unimpressed, unless the frosting is pork flavored

Ewww... Pork flavored frosting? Ick.

I once tried salted chocolate before, and I think the idea is the same with bacon and chocolate or bacon and maple syrup. The salty and sweet flavor combination is supposed to enhance the sensation of each flavor...

Agreed on both accounts. Its why adding nuts to ice cream sundaes is amazing. salty + sweet = magic for your palate.

mmm you guys are making me hungry!
