Haha. My reality is U of M as my #1. Then I would have to consider good schools in locations I like, i.e. USC, Stanford, Northwestern, Rosalind Franklin, U Chicago, etc. Then for sure Wayne and Oakland. If I only got accepted to Wayne and OU it would be such a hard decision. OU wins in location, but it is a new med-school and the facilities are definitely not as nice as Wayne's. OU will build new facilities soon, but not in time for any of us to be able to use them. I don't know, I'll decide on where I want to go when the time comes. I'll definitely throw an app to Harvard though if I get a 36+ on the MCAT. It can't hurt. Prestige is nice. It shouldn't be everything, but it's nice. I would rather drive a ferrari than a buick, but both get the job done and if the ferrari doesn't make sense i.e. you live in michigan or colorado, then you get the buick, ya dig?

Now, I can't say I'd rather go to LSU than Harvard, but here are some schools I would do over Harvard:

There are certain school's that have an academic culture that I am just not into. I did really like Georgetown though. I think Id rather be right under the "pinnacle" so to speak. (I really dont think of the "ivies" as pinnacle but I am trying to make a point here so focus) I find mind motivation in that atmosphere, that lets prove ourselves even if it mean DEATH! I like that. I want to open the doors, not have them opened for me. (generally speaking, not aimed at any particular school so bite your freakin tongue)

haha is it weird that i know the ugliest campuses by heart. most of them are Ivy. however, MIT and Cal tech (Esp cal tech) are pretty bad too.

What's interesting is seeing the number of pre-meds increase with the opening of a med-school. Apparently 2 years ago the bio department couldn't fill any classes and now they have to hire more profs and had to triple the first year bio classes offered... I think it's interesting. Also organic chemistry is filling up a lot faster. The bio can be attested to our supposedly famous nurse anesthesist program and we apparently also have a top 30 physical therapy school. I don't believe it because our facilities are crap. But now they are building a 60 million dollar health sciences building which is huge for the school because health sciences are it's bread and butter.

I picked my top 3 schools cause they were places where I felt like I could be challenged there intellectually (discover things about myself and medicine as opposed to just trying to get from point A to point B). But I am weird like that and that is the kind of place where I would thrive.

Dude, this semester none of my profs post grades online!!! I'm like so confused. None of my profs podcast lectures and only a few even put power-points online. They need to add computer classes to every basic PhD program. These guys can publicize papers and use million dollar microscopes, but they can't podcast???

Will do. I wish pepperdine had a med-school, it has such a beautiful campus. Same with Clemson and Notre Dame. Campus Beauty is right under Female Beauty on Campus in my things to look for when I interview @ med-schools. I can't wait to ask an adcom, "hey man, hows the punany on campus?"

I suggest a research project on going around to every college campus and finding how easy it is to hook-up. How easy the males and females are. Therefore, we can present this data and officially rank schools. We can have pictures and data tables. Basically, do what college girls gone wild does, for science!!!!

I had the weirdest job interview today.

It was for an ambulance company that's based in Chicago and has recently added MI locations.

So, I go in and turn in my app and they hand me a basic test. I felt as though I did ok; however, I had forgotten the glasgow coma scale.

Then, this strong black woman who looked like Queen Latifah pulled me into her office. "Queen Latifah" then immediately began the interview by introducing herself and asking me if I like to work in a team setting?
Me: Yes
"Queen Latifah" (I forgot her name): Do you think teamwork is important for healthcare?
Me: Yes
"Queen Latifah": Do you think it is a bad thing if a healthcare worker is not a team player?
Me: Yes
"Queen Latifah": How do you feel about safety?
Me: It's important to me.
"Queen Latifah": How do you feel about customer service?
Me: It's important to any company in order for them to succeed and it makes work easier for the employee.
"Queen Latifah": How do you feel about professionalism and appearance.
Me: They help raise confidence of the patient in the healthcare worker.
"Queen Latifah": Thank you, I will look through your application and notify you of when you will have a second interview.

I leave with the biggest WTF look on my face. I don't think I got the job.

Yes. Hotter women = me getting rejected more often and becoming more humble. Being humbled = growth. Growth = maturity. And I believe college is supposed to help you grow and mature.

I got mad because what you were saying had implication that I and other girls who for whatever reason posted a picture were somehow deficient in the morality category. Which, at least in my case, is completely untrue.

I didn't at all like mexicandr's continued comments-they were unwelcome and he was wrong to continue making them despite my requests to stop.

Whatever though, it is all water under the bridge and my picture no longer exists in the SDN sphere of the internet universe. 😀
