This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You know what is weird...the doc I shadow told me that they matched all guys into the ENT program this year. Odd!

my friend became the first girl to ever match at an institution's ENT program this year
it is weird here because usually it is pretty much 50/50
ENT overall is a male heavy specialty though

congrats 10x to ur friend!

yea its weird. i think almost more than 50% of med students are female

only 30% (maybe an older estimate ~ 3 years) of actual practicing physicians are female

24% of ENT residents are female (2005), less than that are practicing surgeons in that field

the only field in which women dominate is pediatrics i believe

STUDY DESIGN: Questionnaire survey. OBJECTIVE: To elicit orthopedic surgeons' attitudes toward chiropractic. SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA: Orthopedic surgeons and chiropractors often attend to similar patient populations, but little is known about the attitudes of orthopedic surgeons toward chiropractic. METHODS: We administered a 43-item cross-sectional survey to 1000 Canadian and American orthopedic surgeons that inquired about demographic variables and their knowledge and use of chiropractic. Imbedded in our survey was a 20-item chiropractic attitude questionnaire (CAQ). RESULTS: 487 surgeons completed the survey (response rate, 49%). North American orthopedic surgeons' attitudes toward chiropractic were diverse, with 44.5% endorsing a negative impression, 29.4% holding favorable views, and 26.1% being neutral. Approximately half of respondents referred patients for chiropractic care each year, mainly due to patient request. The majority of surgeons believed that chiropractors provide effective therapy for some musculoskeletal complaints (81.8%), and disagreed that chiropractors could provide effective relief for nonmusculoskeletal conditions (89.5%). The majority endorsed that chiropractors provide unnecessary treatment (72.7%), engage in overly-aggressive marketing (63.1%) and breed dependency in patients on short-term symptomatic relief (52.3%).

Taty, I'm kind of confused - Emory rejected you?

The 'Ville is making a comeback.
Well their last round of acceptances went out 2 weeks ago. I am either WL or rejected.

I will miss Emory for sure-I met some really amazing people here. ATL is a great city and I will most def miss it, especially if I by some miracle get into Duke and spend 4 years in Durham. If I end up in NOLA....haha well that would be quite a different story...I already have people claiming my nonexistent couch for Mardi Gras season.

Holy CRAP! 25/31 on my bracket and sitting pretty as number 1 in our bracket. I'm immediately giving myself a pat in the back right now.

Figures FSU lost. Now even my fictional interest in MM is gone.

In other news, I finally just watched Forrest Gump. Good movie.

sammie!
u came back just in time to see me off!

End of finals/graduation.

well thats worth $100.

i dont go out that hard frequently any more cuz i'm trying to save my sleep schedule and told myself i wouldnt in 2010. but i spent $250 3 weeks ago for one of my close friends 23rd. i dont even remember on what, it was like within 4 hours too.

30/5 shots of jager is pretty good deal

also, we got like a triple shot of gold schlagger for like $4 at one shady ass bar. if you account for the price of gold in the market now, thats a sick deal

I went to the gym and shot 100. 71% with absolutely no pressure. But then again, I'm not getting a scholarship.

43% at 3's. That's not bad.
